pacoson
Hi, this seems to be a great place for reading and learning about my car. I notice alot of you use the chassie prefix to describe your model. OK, My 1994 UZZ30 with 105k on the 1UZ-FE wants a bit more Oumph. By researching here and others I've found the first steps to take might be a Dragon TC $899 Better intake system (suggestions?) My car is due for a new timing belt and H2o pump now, Any suggestions to add while they do this maint? Thanx for all who reply and thanx for the last 3 days of reading! AWJ
Torque converter is excellent idea. Then a tranny cooler. I wouldn't waste money on an intake system. Drop in a reusable filter element - clean it every 5,000miles and hack up the stock box bfi style. You can open the exhaust for some growl. That's about it. Or you can wire in an fuel controller and try to lean rich out the a/f for a little something here or there. Do it on a dyno though. You can always squeeze some naws in there. pacoson
thanx for the reply @ 899 for the dragon TC, Is their a rebuild kit for the stock TC to make it compareable? Is the Dragon the better way to go? AWJ, why a Tranny cooler? I know what their purpose is, but ? Is this to help longevity, in a weak spot in the model? AWJ
Yes, most places will only warranty the TC if a tranny cooler is installed with it. Just something to keep in mind. Don't know of any rebuild kits.
pacoson
the only TC I was able to find was the Dragon for 899! this seems quite high :snoooorrrtttt: Are there other brands that also sell a cooler with it as a package? Itried the links in the FAQ all of them some diden't work and some were GREAT. Doing the timing belt, Should the dealer do it or is it a simple job for a import auto mechanic to do? as the dealer is 80$per hr VS 45$ but a new motor is $$$. Just your 2ct please
