oohryry Posted April 14, 2005 Share Posted April 14, 2005 Just checking to see if anyone ever had to replace their throttle body. Took the LS into the dealer for check engine light/ chech VSC and they told me the throttle body needed replacing for $1375.00. Can the throttle body be cleaned or is replacement not too difficult. Any suggestions would help. This problem only occurs every other day and cuts on the fail safe mode which I cant stand having to shut down the engine and restart the car to get control of the gas pedal again. mehullica Posted April 15, 2005 Share Posted April 15, 2005 What DTC did you get? There's a TPS, acceleration pedal postion sensor, or throttle motor code for this problem. The throttle motor is not as common to fail. Usually it's the sensor that fails. Sensor are way cheaper than the throttle motor. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
