Cleaning Porter-cable Polisher Pads

How to clean polishing pads after use? I was just removing the dry matter out of the pads by striking it with my hand. Next I used a damp towel the pad is now damp. I wonder whether I am doing it right

I soak them in either laundry detergent or something like simple green/water. When they've been soaked everything will just waft out, then you can squeeze them dry and let the rest of the moisture ait dry.
