Problem With 92 Es300........ Newbie Here

Ok I have been lurking around for awhile reading and learning alot. I have searched and searched but can't find anyone with the same problem. My problem is somewhat like the problems people are having with the sputtering and stalling, EXCEPT, mine never stalls.

1992 ES300 w/ 165k. Runs like a champ, but every once in awhile when I'm driving and let off of the gas the RPM's jump up and down, it feels almost like I'm pumping the gas pedal, but like i said above it never stalls. It will sometimes do it at stop lights to while in drive and foot on brake the RPMs will jump up and down.

CEL is on and I just learned how to jump the pins to get the code and I'm going to tackle that here soon, so hopefully that will give me some indication of what's wrong.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Like I said it sounds like some peoples problems, but mine has yet to stall or die, it's just that the RPMs jump up and down.

My Cruise control finally went out, it was accellerating when it wasn't supposed to. Even when it was off it would just start accellerating. Something with either the vacuum pump or the solenoid (not sure which it has), but i think what it means is you have to disconnect it, or at least cut power to it when you are worried about it.
