Ppg Safety Package

Recommended Posts

Just bought my Rx 330 read safety package it says a rain repellant is on side windows back window mirrows.

Why not on windshield i called a ppg rep and they said on front windshield it will not last.

I contacted a company called rainmagic they said their product will last for a year on windshields.

Whats up with lexus and ppg this product should be on front windshields not side mirrors or do lexus officals drive looking through side windows?

Thats a good question. I know for a fact you can get professionally applied glass protectants on windshields that are replaced. Probably some sort of liability thing. No big deal just buy a bottle of Aquapel and do it yourself. As long as you keep the glass clean and don't let it get a lot of baked on contaminants I've never found a need for things like RainX, they clear fine.

The repellant glass works really well though, next time you drive in the rain check the front side windows vs the back, the fronts clear much better. The mirrors are nice too as it keeps them clean, on other cars they get spotted since moving air can't clear them like it does windows.

I tested RainX (6/10) Aquapel (8/10) and finally Castrol Super Clean AccuVision™ (9/10)

It's a proprietary blend of reactive molecules and other ingredients that from a molecular bond to any glass surface on contact (as opposed to some silicone products, which behave more like a wax on glass.) The AccuVision result is a uniform coating on your windshield, which repels rain, sleet and snow, improving wet weather visibility up to 40%, so you can actually recognize dangers sooner and have more time to react.

Unlike most competitive glass treatment products in the automotive aftermarket, with AccuVision there is no buffing and rubbing until clear and there is no required drying time. It is a single application, two-step – just spray and wipe – one-minute glass treatment. Plus, AccuVision will not harm vehicle surfaces including

painted parts, convertible tops, weather stripping and more.

I personally can't stand RainX and much prefer Aquapel. Actually I much prefer nothing. As for paying for an application, you can just buy Aquapel and do it yourself...

I'll have to try AccuVision.

I was told about rainmagic from some guys that are on caddilac race team this is what they use they said it out lasts any on market today it's the only product that has passed a G.E. lexan test making it the only product for use on motorcycle windshields for Harley-Davidson Honda Gold Wings. This compant also make all fire retardnats for NHRA funny cars etc. And it will last One year without reaplication
