The clear coat on one of my wheels is peeling. It is only on the lip of the wheel. I have the Enkei AEGIS (3 piece wheel) on my car. The wheel itself is chrome and the lip is polished alloy. Can I fix this problem myself? What can I do? A local shop told me about $100 to fix the clearcoat on just the lip of my wheel. Please help. Any suggestions/recommendations???

How old are the wheels? & are they exposed to the harsh conditions such as salt from the winter conditions? OEM wheels usually hold up much better in the long run than aftermarket.

once it starts to peel there is nothing you can do yourself to fix the problem

it is like cancer it will will spread and get worse and worse over time, you need to nip it in the butt.

100 bucks is a really good price, do it. and they would be perfect afterwards.

its the only solution, unless you want to buy new rims.......
