Creeeeking Steering

Sorry if this topic has already been addressed, I searched but didn't find anything. Ever since the weather has started to get cold, my steering creeks. Usually something this trivial wouldn't bother me, but when you own a lexus that's so quiet that you don't know it's running, it kinda sticks out. Any input is appreciated! One more question, it's time to flush the transmission fluid, and I'm being quoted prices around $150! That was from the local toyota dealer, but how much is too much?? Thanks.

The steering wheel noise happens on my ES, and my loaner '01 ES as well. I accept it as a normal occurrence based on the cold weather condition. The tranny fluid flush service sounds about right, as long as this is the complete flush system (i.e. flushing the fluid from the torque converter, which takes a capacity of about 14 qts).

My 2000 ES has the same creaking steering wheel problem. I took it to the dealer awhile back and they lubricated the rubber steering wheel boot... cost was around 50 bucks. The noise has since come back, but I assume that has something to do with the dry winter climate here in Salt Lake City.
