VGR
I took my '91 LS400 to a tire store for new tires and wheel balancing. The tire store only had the old style conventional type wheel weights that are pounded into the wheel rim. They did not have the OEM type wheel weights which are flat and apparently glued on. Did I make a mistake not insisting the tire store use OEM wheel weights?
wwest
No, you didn't, but they sure did.
FastXTC
High-end wheels are designed for a clean look on the outside. I insist on adhesive weights only. Some wheels' inside lip can hold a clip-on weight. Beware, the wrong type of clip-on weights can damage alloy wheels permanently. They can clamp on too harsh. Lexus ship their LS with adhesive weights and clamp-on weights on the inside lips.
