  1. According to Darrel at lexus-parts.com, Sport Suspension for the 2005 LS has the following parts: 48812-50130 rear stabilizer bar 48818-50020 rear stabilizer bushing With a Vernier caliper, I measured the stock bar at 13mm and the Sport bar at 14mm.
  2. My 2004 LS 430 navigation system is not displaying the last three characters of the current street name. Instead, the last three characters are replaced with "..." There is also an unknown icon shown on the map, even though all POI icons are off. The last navigation update was Special Service Campaign 4LG in April 2005. 5. After this TSB was performed on my 2004 LS 430, the throttle tip-in response became more responsive and uniform at city speeds. I could tell no difference in throttle response at highway speeds. 6. I like the idea of relocating the antenna from the trunk lid to inside the front windshield. I wonder if the 2004 LS 430 kit will be revised?
  7. I searched http://www.nhtsa.com/ for Service Bulletins on a 2002 LS 430. Brake issue found only refers to front "groan" noise from brake application. To Lexus' credit, they do service their vehicle well during the warranty period, such as in your case: rotors and pads replacement to address the squeal.

  11. I have a 2004 LS with factory wheels. They are silver 17x7.5 6-spoke, like those in this auction. When I looked at the identical full size spare, I thought the offset was 35mm. These pictures show 45mm. I know that the factory 18x7.5 have 45mm offset. Maybe I made incorrect notes while looking at my spare. Could any one advise? 17" CHROME Lexus LS430 Chrome Wheels Rims LS400
  12. The Sprint Sony Ericsson T608 works with the 2004 LS 430 Bluetooth system, except that the car's audio system will not signal an incoming call - it does mute for incoming calls. The phone still rings, and phone book transfers fine. http://www.t608.com/ Perhaps one could use a laptop, Outlook's contacts, and Linksys Bluetooth adapter to upload phonebook entries to the Lexus system? http://www.linksys.com/products/product.as...cid=38&prid=581
  13. I have a 2004 LS 430 with Smart Key. I drive the car about one or twice every two weeks (winter season). Smart Key fob is stored less than 25 ft away in the house. Has not experienced battery drain. Dealer should be able to diagnose bad battery, alternator, belt, etc.
  14. The 2004 LS navigation system utilizes a disc that is in DVD-ROM format. It is not in CD-ROM format. Even if you can find a PC that will read files off the DVD-ROM disc, the program files can not be run on a PC.
  15. The navigation system in the 2004 LS 430 actually has two vehicle position tracking methods: 1) GPS (2-D and 3-D) 2) Autonomous The navigation system uses both of the above methods for fine-tuning, auto-correction and re-routing. The autonomous system is relied upon when GPS is obstructed, e.g.: - in a tunnel - in an indoor parking lot - between tall buildings - under and overpass - in a forest or tree-lined path - extreme weather or cloud condition The autonomous system relies on data from gyro sensor and vehicle (wheel) speed sensors.
  16. The posted image is that of a concept car, intended to generate excitement and feedback. The production model will have to accomodate real-life details like US bumper collision requirement (5 mph?), headlight washers, fog lights, front brake cooling ducts, etc.
  17. I have a 2004 LS and am interested in getting your part numbers for your rear stabilizer bar and bushings (Euro-tuned Sport Suspension). If you or your parts manager can assist, please send me an e-mail at fastxtc-at-yahoo-dot-com. Thanks!
  18. I have the SonyEricsson T608 from Sprint. The ringer comes through on the phone only. Perhaps we should compile a list of phones/carrier/LS year/features.
  19. The Lexus dealer installation option kit for XM has an antenna attaches to the top of the trunk lid, along the edge on the left side of the trunk.
  20. High-end wheels are designed for a clean look on the outside. I insist on adhesive weights only. Some wheels' inside lip can hold a clip-on weight. Beware, the wrong type of clip-on weights can damage alloy wheels permanently. They can clamp on too harsh. Lexus ship their LS with adhesive weights and clamp-on weights on the inside lips.
  21. Tried reclosing all the doors, hood, trunk lid, gas filler cover, etc.?
  22. Stock wheel size from a 2004 LS is 17x7.5", offset is 45mm, 5 x 114.3 bolt. Tire is 225/55-17. Stock 17x7.5" wheel with 45mm offset would extend 50.25mm from the hub face. Your best bet would be a 19x8.5" wheel with 38mm offset for a 69.95mm extension from the hub face, a difference of almost 20mm. Do you have 20mm or more of tire to fender lateral clearance now? Your tire overall width (not height) must also be taken into consideration. Offset of less than 38mm would cause your wheel (and tire) to stick too far out - definitely increasing the chance of fender contact. Check out Scott Galaba's excellent tire size (and gear speed) calculator at: http://pw1.netcom.com/~sgalaba/ I would vary no more than 3% difference for rotational speed, speedometer error, etc. Numbers alone can't give you an answer. Your seller must guarantee physical fitment, or have an arrangement for you to try fitment without driving on the tires.
  23. Lexus offers a Euro-tuned Sport Suspension option for the 2004 and 2005 LS 430. Does it come with a larger diameter rear stabilizer bar than stock? If so, does anyone have the part numbers for the bar and bushings?
  24. Suggestions I submitted to Lexus USA: - The rear license plate mounting area on the trunk lid should include a noise isolating rubber pad. Since there are only two mounting holes to hold the rear license plate in place, there is a possibility of the plate rattling against the trunk lid under certain road conditions. The noise isolating rubber pad should eliminate this. The 2004 RX330 already has this pad. - The Lexus DVD Navigation System software should include a basic arithmetic calculator. This calculator function could be located in the Options, Information Menu screen. - The legal notice at the Lexus DVD Navigation System start-up is very annoying. For the inconvenience, I would expect that the front passenger would be allowed to operate certain functions of the navigation system and the hands-free phone system while the vehicle is in motion. - While it works well at night, the auto-dimming mirror does a poor job of reducing high-beam headlamp glare from vehicles behind the Lexus during the day. The auto-dimming mirror in my $28,000 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix does a much better job during the day and night. - The silent nature of a running LS 430 motor requires an electronic engine start system or a double start defeat. This feature is already standard on lower-priced luxury automobiles, including Cadillac and Lincoln. - The mobile phone holder in the center console is a great idea, especially for a Bluetooth connected phone. However, the Lexus Bluetooth system needs an audible ringer to indicate incoming calls. Otherwise, a phone with its ringer on low level or vibrate mode will cause incoming calls to be missed when the Lexus audio system is not powered on. No response has been received.
