Hi there.

I have lubricated the seat back mechanisms but I continue to have less than smooth adjustment.  I hear knocking-like sound and some hesitation when adjusting forward and back.

What am I missing?  Maybe I didn't lubricate properly?  any advice would be appreciated.

The tracks are lubed and have no issues just the adjustment of the back.

It sounds like you’re experiencing some common issues with the seat adjustment mechanism in your 2008 Lexus SC430. Here are a few things that might be causing the problem:

  1. Plastic Clips: The seat back is often held in place by plastic clips. If these clips are worn out or broken, it can cause the seat to move unevenly or make a knocking sound.

  2. Screws: There might be screws that are supposed to attach the plastic piece to the seat. If these screws are missing, it can cause the seat back to be loose.

Interesting.  Is this a DIY project (in your opinion) or is this a visit to the dealership?

TY for the response.  Much appreciated.   Marc

You're welcome, Marc.

I've never done it, myself but you may want to ask an independent mechanic, first.
