Velocemente Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Hi. I noticed that my 1992 Lexus LS400 instrument cluster knob is not working. Only stays on the brightest setting. Won't dim the cluster when knob is turned to the left. I also noticed that the odometer display doesn't light up, stereo/radio display nor the center console panel light up at night when I turn on my headlights. ONLY the climate control display light up at night. Has anyone else had this issue and know what it is could be? An answer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
RX400h Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Quote The issue with your 1992 Lexus LS400’s odometer, stereo/radio display, and center console panel not lighting up could be due to a few potential reasons: Faulty Instrument Cluster: The instrument cluster, which houses the odometer and other gauges, could be faulty1. This could be due to mechanical or electrical issues. If the problem persists even after replacing the instrument cluster, it might be an issue with the small circuit board that it plugs into1. Electrical Issues: Electrical issues could cause the odometer and other displays to malfunction2. This could include problems with the wiring, fuses, or the battery. It’s recommended to check the battery and ensure the terminals are clean for good contact3. Faulty Stereo LCD: The issue with the stereo/radio display not lighting up could be due to a faulty LCD4. You might consider ordering a whole LCD indicator assembly instead of just the LCD itself4. Please note that these are potential issues.
Velocemente Posted December 1, 2023 Author Posted December 1, 2023 Thanks. I never had any of these problems before until my car was worked on by a so-called "Lexus specialist."
