Fuel Filter Change Help

I need help with changing my fuel filter.

When changing the fuel filter I had taken off one end of the fuel filter and it would not stop pouring gas. I had relieved the pressure in the tank by removing the gas cap.

Is there anything I can do to stop the pouring gas from coming out. Disconnecting the battery???

After removing the fuel cap, did you replace and tighten it?  I have found this really doesn't relieve all the pressure.  You might want to park the car overnight and then try replacing the filter.

Generally, I usually disconnect the power to the fuel pump or remove the fuel pump relay and crank the engine over for a short moment to relieve the pressure.

Typically, fuel will dribble from the line but it shouldn't pour out.
