deanwormer Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 I just had an engine replaced and am questioning whether the mechanic used the engine that came out of the Carfax vehicle information he showed me. Is there a VIN or any other identifying number located on the engine?
RX400h Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 For Lexus, the engine identification number location varies by model. For example, for models like ES 250, ES 300, and GS 300 (96-03), the code is on the front left side of the engine block. For models like ES 330 and GS 300 (04-06), the code is on the engine block. You may be able to find our where yours is by speaking with the dealership parts department person. As far as I know, the VIN is not stamped or tagged on the engine.
