CarPlay Connection error . 2022 Lexus NX 350 iPhone 14 iOs 17

Nov 2022 - purchased car, seamless use of CarPlay until Sept 2023

Sept 2023 - stopped connecting via wireless at start up. While on Device/Bluetooth screen while trying to connect, it 'spins' then a gold text box pops ups - CarPlay Connection Error... no further info. Did own troubleshooting for approx2 weeks - took to dealer for 15k service and had them look at issue.

Details: have deleted Lexus App, removed/forgotten both device and car MULTIPLE times...myself and others going thru same steps with my phone etc.

I have easily spent 12-15+ hours on this issue...dealership loading new software, resetting to factory settings,, holding / calling Lexus, Apple etc. I am at a loss. Various things I have tried with result - 1) USB cable.. works but clunky... includes its own voice in texts and it not a satisfactory solution... should be wireless. 2) connect to another car.. can connect wirelessly to loaner Lexus.. dealer said because it was a 2023, software was different. (?) 3) service staff at dealer said they could connect both iPhone and Android to the car without issue. 4) have updated both iPhone and Lexus software to most current versions....note.. this stopped working before I updated to iOS 17+....

Would love any and all ideas/ suggestions !

We have the identical problem with a 2023 RX350!  Problem started mid-Sept of 2023, worked as it should prior to that date. Looking for a solution.

We have a 2024 Lexus NX 350 and having the exact same issue. Wireless connection to car play is very irregular. Sometimes works fine other times doesn't connect. Have also received Car Play connection error message. Got our car in September. Interesting that Apple update for new ios 17 came out same month. Dealer will be formally looking at it. Other attempts at deleting and adding phones back to system have not accomplished anything. It has been frustrating to say the least.

OK this is one of two issues I’m already having and I only have had the car for two weeks. Also have an NX 350 H and I’m getting CarPlay connection errors. I hope this is not the beginning of a lot of frustration.

My 2022 NX250 lost CarPlay connectivity too. Cannot send messages. Siri responds “sorry, I couldn’t find any matching places”.  Cannot play Apple Music.  iOS 17 seems to be correlated.  Tried upgrading to beta version and still no luck.  My service advisor did not have answer either.   Very frustrating situation.

Do you know what my service advisor said? Go get a new phone! I think he thinks he’s being funny… But he actually is not! I have an appointment to take my car in next week for these little glitches, but if nothing happens between now and then, I may cancel the appointment and just wait for it to start bothering me again. I have a feeling I’m gonna get the same answer that everybody else is getting… We don’t really know what to do…

we are experiencing the exact same issue in our 2023 NX. it worked with our son's iphone 15, so we upgraded our phone too.  that worked .... for 5 days.  then the exact same problem reappeared (...."cant find any matching places") We're at a loss for next steps.

Literally just happened to me again about an hour ago. At least this time when I asked Lexus to connect to CarPlay she did. But in the past that did not work and I had to start all over from scratch pairing my phone.

I've had my 2024 NX350H for less than a week. The apple car play worked initially wirelessly and now it won't work unless I have it plugged in with the charger cable. Very annoying on a brand new car! I've reached out to my tech specialist at the dealer for help, but I'm guessing he won't have a solution since others are reporting this issue. Is there a way to complain directly to Lexus so they know this is an issue? I'll post if I find a solution.

Ugh! So frustrating! I feel your pain… Obviously! I completely agree with you. There is no reason that we should be having such issues with a brand new car. I will tell you that I called the 800 Lexus number and reached a very nice woman who walked through my phone with me, and made sure that all of my settings were fine… Which they were. So it really didn’t do much to help, but at least I felt like she listened to my issues. I actually had an appointment to take my car in, but like you, I think I realized that, my “technician “was not gonna so I didn’t end up keeping the appointment.

We just purchased a 2024 TX and have had the car for 2 less than a week. We have driven it home and then on ride #2 this "CarPlay Connection Error" issue arose. Has anyone been able to solve the problem?

I have a Lexus 350 NXH 2024.I purchased the car at Lexus of Louisville.

I have not been able to use CarPlay voice texting since October. If I do VT- the message begins with “what do you want“ now that is just really rude. This is just  one example that is different from others posted here

I. purchased the car late April and everything was fine; took it to the dealership they told me it was Apples problem. I contacted Apple. I was on the phone for over 2 1/2 hours with no results. Very frustrating especially with a new car.

When we were out of town this past weekend, I plugged in and used CarPlay on a rental without any issues.  This leads me to believe it is a problem within the Lexus system. Anyone else have this comparison or have found a solution?

Would really like to hear from Lexus about fixing this problem.

Oh my gosh! I can definitely relate! I do have a 2024 NX 350H … and mine has been glitchy all over the place. Definitely some CarPlay issues. A lot of times it can’t connect. Then I was having issues with my door locking one day. The most recent thing which just happened two days ago was my gas gauge completely disappeared from the display! nobody has any good answers for anything but trust me, I feel your pain! And that Lexus voice… What do you want… She sounds so rude!

Exactly, trying to be hands-free and respond with that beginning is awful. I don’t know what to do either not use it or tell the person I’m texting to disregard the first sentence but I really want my car fixed.

It’s so frustrating. There’s so much I love about this car but I’ve had it for two months and it shouldn’t be doing the things that it’s doing. Every time I call the service people they told me to make an appointment but by the time I would bring it in, the issue had stopped. It’s sort of like a dog chasing its tail… Never going to catch it.

What can we do? Does Lexus read this blog?

I’m guessing not. I even wrote an email to my service department and received nothing back. I think once they sell their car, they’re probably happy, and they don’t concern themselves with minor issues and customer service. Again, that’s my jaded, self talking!

I’m going to reach back out to my service manager.

The only thing that seem to help was re-paring the phone with the car. It has happened once or twice since then, but at least this time, it actually reconnected.

I have had the exact same experience. On phone with Apple for a total of 7+ hours. It's Lexus--I tried my phone in another new car, and it worked fine. I was hoping that the recent Lexus Software Update would fix it, but I am still having issues. Has anyone been able to resolve i?

Mine has happened a couple times, but not recently. Of course now that I’ve written this, it will probably happen again today! The best way I can describe a lot of what I’ve been experiencing is “glitchy “… Things don’t happen often, but they happen.

Just installed the new iOS 17.4 Beta update and it fixed the issue! Works perfectly now.
