Steve Mathey Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 I have a 2010 Lexus IS250 with only 45K miles. I bought the vehicle in 2012 as a certified pre-owned car from Lexus of Sarasota, Florida. Over the past few months the dashboard and door panels are deteriorating and are all gummy, melting, and sticky to the touch. According to Lexus there was Lexus ZLZ Warranty Enhancement Program that replaced these items at no cost. They are now telling me that the program ended sometime in 2021 and I'm out of luck! This vehicle has always been garage kept, is pristine, and has never been abused. Apparently there was an issue with certain year Lexus's that had defective dashboard and door panels installed and eventually they started to deteriorate. I think Lexus should extend this ZLZ warranty to cover any new vehicles that are STILL experiencing this problem. Ive been buying Lexus since 2002, but no more! Sad they won't take care of their customers.
RX400h Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 I believe the vehicle age deadline for free replacement was 10 years. I don't think any other manufacturer would replace defective parts that are 10-13 years of age. Our dash was replaced in 2015 or 2016. Our Lexus is 18 years old, and the inside door rest (driver's) soft surface is distorted but I certainly would not expect a free replacement.
