dt888 Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I have a 2000 ES 300 and would like to drain the radiator and replace the coolant with the new Toyota super long life antifreeze/coolant. The problem I have is how to remove the engine under cover in order to get to the radiator drain valve. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
lexusk8 Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 You need a metric Allen wrench (forget what size it is) to remove the 3 screws holding the engine cover. After you remove the screws, untwist the "L" emblem on the engine cover, and now you should be able to take the cover off.

Any advises? Thank much.
amf1932 Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 You can ask Lexus service if it's necessary to remove this shield. It doesn't seem like this has to be done just to drain the coolant.
itmdtr Posted October 20, 2004 Posted October 20, 2004 You can use a small peice of rubber hose and put it on the radiator drain. There is a small hose directly underneath the drain just for this purpose.
