Hello all,

I purchased 17X7.5 MHT wheels for my 1994 Camry V6 XLE (original size was 15"). I now have a 1993 GS300. Three questions:

1.) Is the bolt pattern the same?

2.) The rims are for FWD, will these work on the Lexus RWD?

3.) If it does work, what do you recommed for tire sizes:

A.) 215/55/17 front and 225/55/17 rear? or

B.) 225/55/17 front and 235/55/17 rear?

I am new to the board and have read many messages. This really is an excellent board. Thank you in advance.

Bolt patter is the same. They are 5 lug right?

Offsets will be different. They may work but most don't put FWD rims on RWD cars.

I would not stagger your tires since the wheels are the same size all around. You can fit 235s all around

Thanks for your response. Yes, they are 5 lug. I just called the company I purchased them from and told me that I could put the FWD rims on the GS300. If I put 235s all around, the front will stick out more than the rear, which is why I want the staggered look.

Wheel companies that don't have custom offsets sometimes just have a set offset they call FWD and another they call RWD. See if you can find out that offsets (numeric) these wheels are. This will give a better indication of how the wheels will fit on the car.

x7.5 are pretty narrow for a GS. If you have to use it though, 235 is the max, which I see you are already doing. The problem with your staggered tire sizes that you stated will also makethe rear wheel outside diameter bigger than the front wheel diameter. Is this your intent?

Depending on the actual offset number, I'd prefer to get same size tires (so you can still rotate them) and get a spacer for the rear to push it out. This will solve your "front stick out more than the rear" problem. This way, all the wheels are the same size (unless you are really going for the small diameter front big diameter rear (like a drag car)). 235s would be fine but 225s are more comfortable on a x7.5 rim.

Thanks Neo for your input. I will try to find the offsets on the rims. But I am assuming that the offset is the same as the stock rims that come on a 94' V6 Camry (whatever that might be). I did not know as much then as I do now. I didn't even ask about offsets nor did the dealer mentioned it when I bought them.

Regarding the x7.5, stock rims come 16X7.5, so 17X7.5 should be o.k. However, I am not going to get the look I really want. Basically, I have rims sitting around for two years so I might as well use them. Looks like my previous owner drove on curbs with the stock rims.

If i go 215/55/17 on the front and 225/55/17 on the rear, I can avoid buying the spacers for the rear. This will give me the "even" look I'm looking for. But like you mentioned, I will not be able to rotate the tires. At this point, I think I'm o.k. with that.
