branshew
Super easy job that only requires basic mechanical skills. The starter on this engine is on top of the engine and relatively easy to get to. In order to provide the easiest access, you will need to remove your battery. After you have done this, remove the bolts that hold the cruise control regulator module in place. You don't need to remove the throttle cables or anything like that. Once those bolts are removed you can "fold" the module back out of the way and rest it in the back corner. At this point, you should be able to see the starter where it connects to the block. Remove the power wires to the starter and then take out the bolts that hold the starter in place. Swap the old one with the new starter and then put everything back in place. Rush48
Before you start, look for my post about fixing the starter motor itself for about $18.00. In most cases, you do not have to pay for a rebuilt stater because only the contacts inside are faulty (and easy to replace). Good luck.
