Yamahafan Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 My 2000 ES300 with 70,000 miles has a slight ping on acceleration, especially between 30 and 40 mph where the engine/transmission really kicks in. I have noticed a small improvement when buying Amoco 93 octane, but the ping is still there. I bought it used with 66,000 miles. Is this a developing valve/lifter problem ?
amf1932 Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 I think a tune up is in order. Generally, a car with 70K miles shouldn't have a large enough buildup of carbon to cause this pinging. ;)
SKperformance Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 A good throttle body cleanign also is in order, find a local place to you and get a motor vac,.
