sweet-sc
I need new tires for my 98 SC400. I heard that 245/50/16 could rub. Does anyone have knowledge of this or besides the 225/55/16 what size is best? I am going with stock rims. Also, any sugesstion on brands. Mr. Curious
brands usually dont have all great tires. however, all of kumhos tires are good tires at good prices. what type of tire are you looking for?
sweet-sc
I would like a tire that is a little fatter than the 225/55. I bought Yokohamas and they are crap. After only 10K I need to replace them. Wet handling, tire wear and smooth ride are my top concerns. Sweet-SC
Mr. Curious
245/50-16's should be fine, i have 245/45-17's up front on my sc. my suggestions on tires are as follows (best -> good, per your requirements): Yokohama Avid V4S BFGoodrich Traction T/A V Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Bridgestone Potenza RE950 Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP Bridgestone Potenza RE750 yes, i have a yoko rated #1. what yokos do you have? the avs sports and avs es100's wear significantly faster than the avid v4s'. Lexusfreak
I agree with the first 2 suggestions but strongly disagree with the last 4 for many reasons. I would also put the Continental Conti Extreme Contact, the Falken Ziex ZE-512's & the Toyo Proxes 4's on your 'short list'. B)
sweet-sc
My Yokos are the es100. Upon further consideration, ride is my top priority and wet handling a close second. How well do the avid v4s ride?
Lexusfreak
From what I have heard & read....they are a fantastic tire & have gotton excellent reviews! Check out the tirerack website to see for yourself. In addition to your handling & wet weather performance.....the Yoko V4S offer a very long treadlife rating of 500 which is excellent for a high performance all season tire. It's at least 60,000 miles or more. B)
