Need help . What do you do to install a factory radio if the radio you want to install did not come with vin # of car that it was removed from. DON

I guess you're saying that you've got a Lexus radio that comes from a Lexus, and you want to install it in another Lexus? Or a Lexus radio that you want to install in a completely different vehicle, say a Chevy?

Very interesting question. Since the Lexus radio probably won't work until the radio code is reset by the Thieving Dealer, I wonder if the dealer could refuse to work on a Chevy to reset the radio code. Seems like a violation of free trade, but that's nothing to a Lexus dealer. Maybe another member can help with this question. I can't imagine that moving a radio from one Lexus to another should be a problem.

Does only Lexus have the code reader? Yes, I know we're all concerned about radio theft, but exclusivity that results in an owner being forced to go ONLY to a Lexus dealer is another form of theft, I feel.
