2007 LS 460 Base trunk not open

Hi everyone,

I just buy my dream car LS 460 2007 Base. It is in perfect condition but the trunk wont open (key fob and button under steering wheel). The mechanic opinion is replacing motor ($600) That is other way to check what is wrong ? I hear that is the common problem on this model.

Is there no way to manually upon it? If you can get to the motor, you should be able to check that wires are supplying voltage to it when either activation method is used.
