The problem is that the brake pedal feels too unsensitive and you have to step on it too hard to make sure the car stops. Therefore, obviously the stopping time is too long.

I checked the brakes, brakes are fine. What could be the problem? And how much would it cost to resolve.

this could be a problem with your brake lines if its hot outside your stock lines could expand causing this problem. it could also be cause by the lines just being bad themselves check them out if they look cracked or dry rotted at all id suggest going with some steel braided brake lines also check the amount of brake fluid in your car

If he shaved the rotors, I'd also ask him/her to bleed the brakes. It doesn't hurt to check out what kind of a device he/her is using to bleed your brakes.
