hsalkin Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 Just had my transmission replaced with a Lexus remanufacturer one, on my Es300 2001, replacement transmission is still not smooth and thumps when I brake the car; dealer say this is normal. I say my car was always smooth until I hit 49,000 miles; bought it used at 40,000. I think transmission needs to be replaced again-- what do you think?
Lexusfreak Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 I wonder why the first transmission failed the first time at only 40,000 miles? Is the car still under factory warranty?

Is the car still under factory warranty? transmission never failed on my 2001 es300, it just started thumping at 49,000 miles when I braked to 20-25mph and then accelerated. Dealer does not repair transmission, they just replace them
