wayneh Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Hi - I've gotten some very good info from this forum before, and I need it again please. I have a 2002 IS300 Sportcross and the left front (driver) headlight (lowbeam, HID) has gone out. I'm not sure when it happened as I don't drive much at night, but there has not been any 'trauma' to the car - no accidents, etc. that might have caused this. In fact, it's garaged most of the time. 1) I have checked the bulb and it is good - I swapped it with the right front headlight and it works. 2) I bought new bulbs and tested - the new one worked on the right, not on the left. 3) I've checked the fuse under the hood - again, all good and swapped with right side to verify. 4) All the other lights work properly on both sides. I'm guessing that there might be a secondary fuse, or perhaps a headlight 'module' somewhere that needs to be replaced? Suggestions?
wayneh Posted November 4, 2022 Author Posted November 4, 2022 Think I figured it out by searching some other forums - it must be the ballast that's bad. I'll try replacing it and see how it goes.
