  1. Think I figured it out by searching some other forums - it must be the ballast that's bad. I'll try replacing it and see how it goes.
  2. Hi - I've gotten some very good info from this forum before, and I need it again please. I have a 2002 IS300 Sportcross and the left front (driver) headlight (lowbeam, HID) has gone out. I'm not sure when it happened as I don't drive much at night, but there has not been any 'trauma' to the car - no accidents, etc. that might have caused this. In fact, it's garaged most of the time. 1) I have checked the bulb and it is good - I swapped it with the right front headlight and it works. 2) I bought new bulbs and tested - the new one worked on the right, not on the left. 3) I've checked the fuse under the hood - again, all good and swapped with right side to verify. 4) All the other lights work properly on both sides. I'm guessing that there might be a secondary fuse, or perhaps a headlight 'module' somewhere that needs to be replaced? Suggestions?
  3. I've read a bunch of posts about this problem - after you take the key out of the ignition, you can no longer turn it once you put it back in. This is NOT about turning the wheel - this is about a bad ignition barrel. Just to reiterate - this is the post that shows the Lexus Tech Service Bulletin about this issue (May 23, 2003 EL005-03) : http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...amp;hl=ignition So here is my question: How can I get ONLY a new barrel "cut" to match my existing keys so that I don't have to have all the locks replaced on my car? (Several previous posts mentioned doing this but never say how to do it.) I'm trying not to get screwed by my dealer. THANKS!
  4. Glad to help - I've been looking for this manual for a while. (If you want to remove these posts to clean up this thread, feel free)
  5. All done. Here's a llink to the combined, by section, manual: http://home.comcast.net/~whoit/IS300TechManualSections.zip
  6. Sorry - still getting the 'corrupted' error when I try to open "ac inspection.pdf". "ac inspection2.pdf" is ok. Are you able to open it in Acrobat? I'm using Acrobat 8. I also noticed that there is no information in the PDF Properties - which is quite strange. I opened the file in a text editor and it appears that the last part of the file is missing.
  7. I'm about done with the manuals, but it seems 1 file is corrupt: "ac inspection.pdf" Can you supply a good copy to me and I'll upload the compiled verions? Thanks.
  8. Excellent - I'll give it a try tomorrow. Thanks again. By the way - I'll be combining the separate PDFs into larger files, by section. If you want the combined files to post, let me know.
  9. Hi - First - THANKS! Next, I'm looking through the Body Electrical guide, "ils inspection.pdf" and it is referring me to another section "DI-907". I can't find "DI" - does anyone know where it is? Or perhaps, can you just tell me how to remove the Personal (Map) Light lens cover? I nedd to change the bulb and I don't just want to pry it off and risk breaking it. (Mine is the kind with the w/Sliding Roof - I can't find instructions for removing the lens....) Thanks again....
  10. Hi - I have a 2002 SportCross with 38K miles and over the last year or so, both my wife and I have noticed an increasing problem. After starting up and driving, the engine will seem to lag periodically - the "mpg" meter jumps to 80, the rpm drops about 500, and it feels like the engine dies - for about a second or two. This happens irregularly. It usually happens for a few miles then drives normally. However, recently, after driving it 150 highway miles, then parking it in a parking garage for 3 days, when we drove it again it was horrible. We could barely get it out of the garage - it felt like it was going to stall. Then it settled down, but by the time we got onto the highway again it started 'lagging' again - but this time at 65mph. This continued for over 10 miles, then stopped. We've had our dealer try to diagnose the problem several times - they did a full 40K service, replaced an O2 sensor, updated the transmission programming, and ran full electrical diagnostics. Even though the Shop Foreman has (finally!) felt the problem for himself, they can't seem to figure out what's causing this. We're getting pretty *BLEEP*ed off, as well as concerned about driving the car anytime. Does anyone out there have any ideas or similar experiences? Thanks.
