  1. NADA top of the line price is about $8,900, so 10K is a good place to begin negotiating down. Where are good ones like this one for sale at the bargain basement prices I hear are available??
  2. If you are really thinking about this, let me tell you about some ocean front property I'm trying to sell in Nebraska.... I checked NADA again and I thought the price was close and it is. NADA list for a top of the line '96 Lexus LS 400 is about $8900. So 10K is not too much out of line for an asking price. Golly, the man could ask twice that amount if he wants but it doesn't mean that he'll get it. Thanks for all the input.
  3. I have an opportunity to buy a close friends '96 LS 400 which he purchased new. I rode in this car the first day he owned it back in '96 and many times since then. The car has been pampered, is without a scratch and has about 115,000 miles, it's been dealer serviced since new and garaged when not being driven. The offering price is around 10K. I know he can get more so I have to pay the price to get a great car. Should I go for the '96 that I know or, just to have something other than a second '96 (I already have a'96 LS 400), buy the wife some other year vehicle that I know nothing about??
  4. I'm appalled that any police jurisdiction is so backward as to issue tickets for a loud exhaust. WTF! There's nothing to compare with the rediculously loud exhaust of Harley's with open pipes and you never hear of them being ticketed for noise polution! "Improper Mufflers" was an easy way for the cops to raise money back about 60 years ago but I thought they'd grown up and left such childish behavior in the dust. Yeah, I'm bitter, I got a ticket for improper mufflers back in 1956. Sorry to hear of your bad luck
  5. Could the issue be the neutral safety switch gone bad...??? That would cause such a condition.
