  1. Thanks for the idea. Not sure it could handle the HP from a 4L V8. Also my wife had a Mazda years ago when we meet, all I did was fix it over and over with no dealer or manufacture support. Valve job, wheel bearings, 5 waterpumps, parking brake siezes every 5-6 months, exhaust failed at hangers every 18 months, ignition issuses no car for 5 weeks and $3000 repair bill! I would rather walk than drive anything Mazda related. Sorry very bad experience. Just Toyota or Lexus for us now.
  2. We have an ES300 and had the same problem. I was a bad wire on the right rear and once I changed it I had to drive it a bit them the warning lights cleared. Mine pluged into the main wiring harness under the back seat back. You should be able to unplug them and check with an ohm meter.
  3. You know this is IRS not a rigid axle ? Thanks, Yes I know it's IRS thats the attraction. My son Hudson and I are rebuilding 1935 Hudson 2 door sedan with modern appointments. Like a 4L V8 Lexus engine and 5 speed automatic. The challage is the width of the rear end in the LS400 and SC400 is to wide for the car. So I was hoping since the IS300 is a smaller car it may work with out radical work narrowing it. I went to my local wrecker but the only one they have has been pretty well stripped. Thanks much
  4. Hello I wonder if someone could help. I need to find out the width of the rear axle in a IS300 from Hub to Hub for a custom project. Thanks much
  5. Yes we will need some snow tires for sure around here. I'm listening, are you a tire guy?
  6. Success!!!! After further investigation I found a wheel sensor wire on the right rear that was broken at the connector. A quick patch up and a test drive and all lights are out! I will get a replacement OEM wiring harness, it's only 4 ' long with connectors. Shouldn't be more than a couple hundred bucks!!! Thanks for input. Car has 88,000 km it's a very nice upgrade from a 93 Camry with 375,000 km. Cheers Jake
  7. Just purchased a 02 es300, when we looked at it the AC light was flickering and ac was shuting off. The battery was dead. The dealer put a new battery in all seemed ok so we bought it. The AC light has only flickered once since ( I read here it could be the relay). Third day with the car the check engine light comes on. Then after hitting a bit of a bump on the road most of the dash warning lights are on Trac Off, VSC, ABS, (!), what ever that is. (we don't have a manual) I purchased a OBD2 code reader and it has no error codes and the check engine light is now off. Anybody have some ideas??? loose Wiring?? Thanks. Thanks for all the great post on this forum too.
