I'm looking for the following part for my '93 LS400, which unfortunately has been discontinued:
4-seasons a/c hose, cooler refrigerant suction, no. 1, part number 88712-50060
Any help in tracking it down would be greatly appreciated.
Where do you guys get parts for your old cars?
Yeah. Try looking at salvage yards first. You can still get some decent stuffs there at a cheap price. You can also do a local search online.

On my 95 SC400 that has 170,000 miles, I had a coolant leak in the engine compartment in June 2007. I thought it's the water pump, so I ordered all the parts from www.ToyotaAndLexusParts.com (water pump, timing belt, Ignition wire set, RH & LH Idler Pulley, RH & LH Rotors, RH & LH Distributor Caps, Thermostat, Thermostat Gasket, 2 Water Pipe O-rings, Upper Radiator Hose, Lower Radiator Hose, and Timing Belt Tensioner.
After 3 weekends of removing and installing these parts, and changing coolant and engine oil, I completed it on 7/31/07.
When I started warming up the car, I noticed slow coolant leak running down the fins of the Radiator. I did not notice any leak from the new Upper & Lower Radiator hoses.
Can anybody help if the Radiator needs to be replaced, or this is a sympton of a head gasket leak.
Thanks.
Elmer
I am planning to rebuild my old project too. I want to start at my old head gaskets & some coolant though have one question to ask. For how long did you get the Thermostat Gasket & the 2 Water Pipe O-rings work together?

Hey everyone,
I've got a 96 LX450 with 286,000 miles. It's been in the family for its whole life. My Mom gave it to me when she got a new GX. I LOVE my 450. LOVE IT. To the point where I don't even mind the lack of AC, the sunroof sticking, the poor gas mileage, and barely any remaining lights on the dash and stereo. She drives like a champ and I can take her anywhere.
UNTIL YESTERDAY
Now what's happening is that when I come to a stop light or a stop sign, she idles really hard and almost feels like she is going to stall out. She hasn't yet but I've resorted to keeping her in neutral when I come to a stop and keeping the engine revved up some. She drives smooth as silk otherwise. On my way to a mechanic the check engine light came on. The mechanic is telling me that I have a "failure on one" and that I have coolant leaking into my cylinder which is causing the engine to misfire. He said because of the high mileage on the the car he said if he replaces the head gasket it would be hard for the rings to seal and I could end up with a "mosquito fogger". He said I could get a new engine for a few grand but doesn't think I should put that much into a 12 year old car with almost 300,000 miles on her. I don't think he is trying to rip me off because he is recommending that I just let it go and look for a new car. He's clearly never owned a LX450 and had that bond though. Does any of this sound right? Is it the headers? Is it really not worth fixing? I find it hard to let go, but I also don't want to keep pumping money into repairs. To date I've spent really very little on repairs so I've had an amazing run. But the AC has a freon leak from the evaporator core and needs a new compressor (which I just took the belt off of and let it go). The power steering belts need to be replaced. The hood is rusting like crazy under the paint which is bubbling up. What do I do?
Thoughts?
Thanks
The best thing that you need to do is to examine both compressor & headers. I can't tell exactly what but try to weigh those two.

:) Hello All. I have a 1990 ES250 with a blown head gasket @ 340K. I was wondering if it is just easier to take out the engine with the transmission? I'm having a lot of trouble taking off the distributor cap and the exsaust from the rear head (next to firewall). There is not enough place to remove the bolts. I'm going to change the head gaskets, water pump, thermostat, timing belt, spark plugs and also have to repair the rack and pinion because of a leak. I also have a punctured cv boot on the drivers side. Please let me know what you think and if there is a better way to remove the heads. Thanks!!!
Yeah. That is one thing that annoys me. There isn't enough place to remove the bolts.

Hey guys, was hoping I could get a few of you gear heads to weigh in on this. My 95 ES300 runs like a top. My concern is the driver side corner of the engine has a very small "seepage" of antifreeze. To clarify, this means there is a smear of antifreeze directly between where the head gasket on to the block. When I take a paper towel and wedge it between the head and block I get a little antifreeze transfer. It's no where near enough to trickle down the block nor do I see any air bubbles. After I clean it up to where it is visibly dry, the wet bead reappears after driving it a few times.
No white smoke on start-up
No antifreeze detected in the oil or cooling system
Not loosing any coolant
Using Zerex Asian formulated antifreeze
I know a compression test is the logical next step, but I wanted to get some feedback/speculation on this first. I dont suppose this is "normal" is it? Thanks for you help!
Any further findings about this man? I am also curious about this certain scenario so I wanna know.

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good cleaner or method to keep the chrome shiny on the tailpipe tips? I have a 2005 sc 430. Thanks
Here's the guide for tail pipe replacement guide before you clean your stuffs. It comes in handy. Just read through.
