  1. If your status is New Club Member then you are not allowed to post items for sale in this forum. You must make a contribution to the forums before you can post here. When you have made enough posts, your status will change, and you will be allowed to post. This has become necessary due to the number of people registering purely to sell, and not contributing to our community
  2. Well, I double checked the registration and mine is designated as a 1990. I assume that the Lexus marketing department would not have had designated any as a 1989 when they could use 1990. So, I think it's safe to conclude my Lexus is part of the first shipments to the United States. Thanks again!
  3. I should have mentioned that the driver's side door placard states it was manufactured in Japan in April 1990 with VIN JT8VV22T6L0118132. I can't read the pre-delivery service check stamp, but its first 1,000 mile service was conducted on 10/25/90 at Thompson Lexus of Doylestown, PA. Of course the car came with a 1990 Owner's Guide and a 1991 Owner's Manual. Hope that helps to narrow it down
  4. Thank you very much. As a follow-up, since the first year of retail introduction was 1989, were the first Lexus cars marketed as model year 1989, 1990 or something else? I still have my 1990 ES 250 and I am curious as to whether it's part of the first U.S. imports. Again, thank you very much.
  5. In what year was the Lexus brand officially introduced into the United States. Not the first trade show or exhibition, but the first year Lexus was actually selling retail in the U.S. Thank you.
  6. I recently purchased a Lexus RX 350 and I am forced to sell my 1990 ES 250 because I need the garage space. Does anyone have an idea as to how much I should ask for this near antique? The car is essentially in its original condition. Stored in a garage and maintained. It has 166,926 total miles and has never been in an accident (VIN JT8VV22T6L0118132). The vehicle is not in pristine or mint condition, but it is in good to very good overall condition. There is wear on the driver’s seat and there is a minor seam separation on the rear seat. Mechanically, the air conditioner works, but needs recharging with R-12 and there was a leak in the power steering that I believe I have fixed. I am certain there are other minor issues, but overall it’s a very good car that continues to always start and runs ‘like a top.’ The car comes with the original manuals. The car’s radio was upgraded years ago, but the original Lexus radio is in a box in the trunk. Thank you for any guidance you might be able to provide.
