I have a 93 Lexus SC400. I've noticed that newer model cars come with a transponder in the key which won't allow the car to be started unless the key is used. My car has keyless entry but I doubt it has any transponder technology beyond that. Also, Lexus informed me that the factory installed alarm is triggered only if the door is forced open. Someone could break the window and open the door and the alarm would never sound!
Is there an aftermarket product which the transponder like features? A friend suggested the Viper 500. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
