  1. hey guys I have a quick question. does anyone know the exact size of the stock exhaust tip on the rx350? I tried doing a search on this forum but couldn't find any details. I believe the inlet is 2.25in or 2.5in and the outlet is between 3-3.5in, not sure of the length. I just had the wings west lip kit installed on the truck and I want to get a replacement exhaust tip, I'm not going to change the muffler or go too crazy like that. I notice Gipson, Flowmaster and Magnaflow offer clamp on tips and as far as the length was concerned I was going to get a 7-9in tip, just long enough so it's flush within the new lip of the rear bumper and not sticking out. Any ideas/suggestions?
  2. OK after careful review I decided to get the aftermarket shop to install the sensors. Just in case I ordered 2 spare sensors from Sewell Lexus parts online and the sensors were $109.62 each. I didn't find any sensors for $99 for a set a 4 and I don't mind spending a couple extra bucks buying the genuine parts from the dealer and they have good pricing. The local dealer here in NJ wanted $200 for one sensor. So Saturday I will have them put on and just in case they break one I have a backup. I also bought the XM satellite unit for $299. How much should I expect the dealer to charge me to install the unit? I have heard anywhere from $600-$1500 depending on the dealer and that included parts and labor. I assume they probably charge around $400-500 for the unit itself and then another $200 or so for installation. I figured I have the parts so how much can they charge me for installation, I can't see them charging me like $400-500 right??
  3. Hey guys I have a 2009 R350 (Pebble Beach Edition) and I just had a set of aftermarket wheels put on. I decided to have them them transfer the wheel sensors so now of course I have that annoying light come on. the reason i decided not to transfer the sensors was because when they tried to install one on a new wheel there's this plastic piece that protruded out above the lining of the wheel and i didn't want to take a chance of them cracking the sensor when they put the tire on..I read through various posts as well as conducted a google search and some people say take it to the dealer but they may not disable it because its a federal requirement. Others say there's no way to disable. I read a post on clublexus where there is some type of reset switch underneath the dashboard on the drivers side and if you have the sensors installed everytime you change the air pressure in the tire you have to turn the key to the ACC position and then click on this reset switch but that was for a 06-08 RX350 and i'm not sure if that would work if there are no sensors installed. so basically my question is if i took it to the dealer can they just reset the system so the light just goes off? but i'm sure i'll get flack for taking the sensors out and they may not do it. so my 2nd question is on the 09 models is there anything i can do myself to disable the system or just to have that light turn off, that's really all i want to do, i don't have to necessarily disable the entire system, just turn off that light.
  4. hey guys thanks for the feedback you gave me about which car i should get: 2006 GS430 or 2006 Mercedes CLS 500. well I decided after alot of thinking the Mercedes. sorry i hope you guys don't through stones at me and throw me to the wolves! but i just wanted to share these exterior pictures, the color is Barolo Red MEtallic with Cashmere Nappa leather interior.. i know this wheel is very popular and everyone has it but i just love the way this wheel looks triple chrome, 20x9 in the front, 20x11 in the rear, 35% tint all the way around, chrome accents on the headlights and taillights, the lorinser lip trunk spoiler and the CLS55 and AMG emblems in the rear. the dealer ordered the AMG front grill and a wood grain shift knob which should come in this week. tell me what you think...
  5. wow thanks for the feedback. for someone who has owned a fine machine as that S600 to say he would pick Lexus shows you how great a brand it is. let me ask you guys a question, i'm going to be leasing the vehicle, outside of cosmetic changes, i can't change the suspension or anything like that right??
  6. thanks for that information. i have read in other places that mercedes quality is not great anymore ever since they merged with Chrysler, thats a shame, you spend all that money on a luxury car and they are a piece of junk. more and more i'm starting to lean toward the lexus. i can't go wrong
  7. from what I just saw the new GS 300 will become the GS350 and the GS430 will become the new GS460, the GS460 supposedly shares the same engine as the new re-designed 2007 LS 460. nobody knows when it is coming out, I would like to see that, I guess I should wait. decisions, decisions
  8. yep, I have driven both and they both drive very smooth and both are fast enough for me. i'm more into looks than speed and handling and such. i couldn't go wrong either way i guess. the lexus is a damn good car, i had a 94 GS300 and i loved that car. my mom has a 2005 RX330 and that car is nice and she loves it. my problem is i sometimes second guess myself, like i thought i would like the Jaguar but after 6 months it was blaa to me. i never owned a mercedes and that CLS is very exotic looking, doesn't look like anything else on the road
  9. hey guys, what car should I get, 06 GS430 or 06 Mercedes CLS500 with the AMG sport package? both are beautiful cars, I just had a 05 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas that I was orginally going to trade in but I have someone who is going to buy it within the next 1-2 weeks. Below are the options on the benz: -AMG sport package -Xenon headlight package -Premium package which includes Hardon Kardon Logic 7 stereo system with cd changer, COMMAND DVD Navigation, Active Ventilated Front Seats, Driver Multicontour Seat, Passenger Multicontour Seat -Electronic trunk closer -Sirius radio -Keyless Go -Barolo Red Metallic exterior/Cashmere Beige Interior I know the GS430 is about 20k cheaper than the CLS500 but again I like both cars and both cars drive very nice. I would have to wait 10-12 weeks to get a CLS500 and about the same time for the lexus (in one of my post on this forum I mentioned that my local dealer told me it could take up to 6 months because I want the Glacier Frost Mica with Ash interior and apparently the GS430 is not in high production). Help!! If u guys had to make the choice what would u do? (without considering price)
  10. Hey guys it's been a while since I've been on the site. Anyway, I'm preparing to trade in my 2005 Jaguar XJ for the GS 430 and to my dismay they do not make too many of this model, only the GS 300 My local dealer told me that they really only have been selling the GS 300 as there is limited production on the GS 430, for instance, I wanted the Glacier Frost Mica exterior/ash interior and I would have to wait 6 months. The only popular colors that are available are the black beige colors. He has a Blue Onyx/Beige interior car possibly coming in by the end of next month. if not, I am going to have to wait until like May or June of next year :cries: Then, he told me the lease on one for 39 months, 12k miles per year would be either $920month with $2k inception included in the payment or $860/month with me paying the $2k out of pocket and the car is around $59,500-$60k. Is this a good rate? Also, does anyone have any pictures of the Blue Onyx 2006 GS?? Oh btw, I have a aftermarket shop that I deal with here in Jersey and he has a company he deals with and they will custom make a chrome mesh grill for any car including the new GS. it's a little pricey but I like that option better than the cheesey billet grills I've seen or the overlay mesh grills that www.lextasy.com has. It would be a full replacement grill and he told me it would probably run around the $600 range for the upper and maybe $400 for the lower (these numbers are only approximate)...
  11. i currently have 18" stock rims that came with the sports package, i've seen the car with 20" and 21"
  12. Has anyone seen up close the Wald body kit for the 2004 LS430?? I saw the pictures posted by MrSypher and I have seen other pic's but it's hard to tell how it really looks. I notice it's not too flashy, very contemporary look. I'm looking to get a body kit for my LS430 and I don't want anything really flashy but I don't want a boring look either. Also on Wald's website they mention they have sport replacement fenders but they don't post any pictures and a couple of shops I have called said they can get them but they don't have pic's either. Has anyone seen those too? I like the fenders that AutoCouture has with the integrated vents and I figured the Wald ones were similar.. One more thing, I want to put 22" chrome wheels the car, will 22"'s fit??
  13. I may have to order one with just the premium package. i figured that since the Navigation system has that voice recognition that it is somehow integrated with the stock radio as well as other functions like Bluetooth, rear view camera, etc... do you know if I do get the Nav that if I change the head unit, speakers, etc that I will interfere with anything?? will I still have the voice recognition feature?? secondly i'm stuck in between 2 colors: Black Cherry ext./Cashmere int. or Flint Mica ext./Ash int. what's do you think??
  14. where can you purchase the Tom's Racing Bodykit for the LS430 (F070M)...??
  15. :chairshot: question for you guys.. i'm looking to get a 2004 LS430 with only the premium package, I don't want the Mark Levinson system or Navigation system as I want to put my own custom system. what does the dash look like without the Navigation screen. is there still a screen that displays thr temperature controls and radio?? I figured that if I did get the Navigation system which has voice control it would be kind of difficult making modifications. any thoughts??
