  1. LIve in NJ and looking for a good tire recommendation. would prefer all season with quiet and comfort ride.

currently have michellin a/s sport, will not get them again due to bad tread life....

Your tires tread life is fine, it is the alignment set up from the factory that is the problem. Take a look at the sticky on this forum that details the problem.

What I did is take my tires off the wheels and put the left side tires on the ride side wheels. Now the inside of the tires are on the outside of the opposite side of the car. The tires are still rolling in the same direction, just on the opposite side of the car. This will extend the life of your tires.

  2. I have the same issues as everyone else with my 07 AWD. What I have done is had the tires taken OFF the wheels and had the right side tires put on the left side of the car. The tires are still rolling in the same direction, just on the opposite side of the car. This means that what was the inside of the tire (the side that is wearing out) is now the outside of the tire. This will get me a ton of extra tire life. I have the Michelin Pilot Sport AS tires. I had them moved to the opposite side of the car at about 30,000 miles. I expect to get at least 50,000 from these tires.

  3. I just bought the same tires at Costco for my 07 IS250 AWD. The Bridgestones had a bubble in one tire & I didn't want to risk it. Haven't driven it enough to judge the new tires, but they better be good at the price I paid.

I paid a fortune at Sam's Club so I'm banking these tires will last much longer than the Bridgestones based on what I read.

Agreed. They were not cheap, but they have a 45,000 mile tread life warranty. My guess is they will be good for more than 50k miles. I didn't want to buy a tire that didn't have a tread life warranty.

  4. I think if you went in there today and leased a brand new one, you'd get one for alot less then that. I'm seeing ads on tv now for 359 a month. I don't remember how many months the lease is for in the ads, but 359 is almost half the monthly payment, so you could drive the car for 48 months and spend the same amount of money. Or spend half a much in the same 24 months. You could save 8500 bucks or so. That's alot of cash.

He isn't LEASING the car, he is buying it. 25 payments of $700 and he will own the car outright. Not a bad deal, especially since his dad is going to pay for insurance.
