  1. My es 300 seems to have a few tranny problems. When I got it, I changed the fluid but I overfilled it by about 300 mls, would this cause any real damage? One of the problems with the tranny is that I can feel it shifting more than on my chevy, every time it shifts gears there is nearly a one second pause and then it shifts and, on a cold start when I am driving between 30-70 kmh it stays in second gear and runs between 2500 and 3500 rpm, but that problem is gone after it warms up. Looking for opinions on if this transmission is on the way out?
  2. I am planning on installing a Chinese navi system into my 1999 ES300. This is the unit I plan on using: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=120417673070 I just have a few concerns. Since the es has a 195watt 7 speaker system, will this unit be able to put sound to all speakers as the listing states 4 x 60 watt. Will this unit be compatible with the current stock amp and will I need an AMP bypass wiring harness or a regular one? And will I be able to use this unit with my stock antenna to get a decent signal? Radio is key for me. Finally if I get this all wired up through the amp, will the sound quality be ok with minimal electrical interference? Thanks

  4. I just picked up a 99 ES300 Saturday morning and on the drive home, I noticed that the fuel gauge was bad, it reads about 1/4 full. I learned this when I went to the gas station to give her the first fill up and could barely squeeze 16 liters in. I'm just curious what the problem may be? The car is in pristine shape and I got a decent deal on it and I hate having a bad gas gauge, it is a real pain, I had this issue with my first car (Chevy Impala) but I was too broke to have it repaired. I'm excited to drive my new Lexus as it is my first deviation from GM, I have owned nothing but GM throughout my life. On a side note, I am impressed with the ride that this car provides, it handles fantastically and hugs corners like no tomorrow, it drives with every bit of precision that my Pop's brand new Benz C300 4 Matic does. Thanks
  5. This is my first post, and these forums look good. I just bought a 1999 es 300 yesterday, and I would like to install a navi system. I would like to install a system like this: http://cgi.ebay.ca/7-Car-DVD-Player-GPS-Na...93%3A1|294%3A50 And I would use this mount: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS-ES-30...5fAudioQ5fVideo I am just wondering if anyone has the steps for this and if you know where I can obtain a wiring harness for it? Thanks
