  1. Simple question, maybe not such a simple answer? I just test drove the BMW 328xi (all wheel drive) automatic sedan, it was great and I am also considering the 335i, I unfortunately have not had time to test drive the Lexus yet, although I plan on doing so. I test drove the Audi A4 2.0t quattro and ruled it out. Just curious as to why you went with what you did, either with the IS250 or IS350. I have not decided if I would get the 250 or 350, I know I would prefer the 350 and all wheel drive is not essential. Just as a side note, does anyone have the IS350 rear wheel drive sedan in a cold snowy climate? How does it do with snow tires? I know the rear wheel drive BMW's with proper snow tires perform very well, I currently own one, a 95 5 Series. Would appreciate as much insight as I can get from this forum about the positive and negative attributes about the IS compared to the BMW 3 series. Good & Bad, would you make the same choice again? I think from dimensions they appear to be very similar in size. Thanks for your help! Steve from NYC
  2. Hi, So I've been looking at mostly 96-98 ls sedans, but recently i found a 91 LS400, one owner, garaged, and only 78,000 miles on it. Anyone own a 91 or the earlier models? I know the car came out in late 89, but wondering about the reliability as compared to the newer one's. is it just opinion? or were these cars in the early 90's just as good as the one's today, only a little less complicated? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm thinking about getting it instead of my 95 bmw 5 series. Always wanted a LS, just never thought I'd be looking at this old of a car. But it looks pretty darn clean. he wants $4,800 for it. Good price? Any info would be great!
  3. Right now I have a BMW 5 series, but I want a Lexus LS400. I am looking between the years 95-98, from what I've read, as far as the LS is concerned those are really the best years for this car. Is that true? I want a car for between $4-6,000 or if anyone wanted or had interest in the BMW I would surely accept a trade along with the appropriate cash on my part. I want the LS to have under 140,000 miles on it as well. And no grey or ivory interior please, only black or tan. Please PM me if you or you know someone that has one like this. You can email me to, goyshahomer@gmail.com I live in the New York area, so I am pretty much only willing to drive to see the car in the Tri-State area. Thanks a lot.
  4. I am honestly thinking of trying to buy a car with 100,000 miles on it, hopefully a one owner, well kept and maintained. I will of continue good maintence for the life of the car, but do you think it could go a million miles? I see some posts of people with 300,000 and I have read the article about the guy in TX with 550,000 on his LS, but that is still 500,000 miles away from my goal. I was thinking that if you had a Lexus with 500,000-a million miles and took it to a Toyota/Lexus dealership they would probably take your car and give you a new one, has anyone ever heard of that?
  5. Do you need to use Premium Fuel in the Lexus LS 400? I understand the newer one's need it, but for a car that is near 10 years old, is it neccessary?
