  1. Question: Are there any bad side effects if I were to cut/remove the belt connected to my GS400 A/C compressor? Background: I believe something is very wrong with my A/C compressor, as it stopped producing cold air two weeks ago. Now today, when starting the engine, it makes turn-over sounds, lots of screeching, but the engine never starts. My theory is that the A/C compressor (and belt) is somehow preventing the rest of the engine from running. Does anyone know whether cutting that belt will simply free the engine from having anything to do with the compressor? I know this won't fix the A/C problem, but I just want the engine to start and run. (this solution worked on my Eclipse with a similar problem many years ago)
