I own a 99 LS 400 the past week the speedometer will work than it will quit.It is working now.Could this be an indication of a loose speed sensor connection?The odometer registers but the speed does not.

How does the hood stay up on a Lexus 400 .I am trying to check under the hood and can not get it to stay up.I just got the car and do not know a lot about it .I will be reading the owners manual as much as I can.
