have a 2004 lx 470 going 30mph through intersection and a car pulled in front of me to turn right, i braked and swerved right and he hit me along the front drivers and rear door,spun me around to the left, passenger rear tire came off the rim and my front air bags deployed but not as much as i expected, as anybody else experienced this - no side bags went off- and nobody hurt, he had a medium car and had less damage than me because i tried to avoid him, if i would have hit him straight on the story would be different. thanks David

Does noboddy read the replies? 5000lbs with the hitch that comes with the vehicle, if you add a hitch, i installed a hidden hitch then you can tow 6500lbs.

towing capacity is 5000lbs with the factory installed hitch,and 6500lbs with the add on hitch, i have a hidden hitch, of interest towing capacity in Australia is 72000lbs to 7800lbs depending which state you live in, i have heard 8200lbs in some places, they are very conservative here in north America, it is a legal thing.

resolved all my problems bought an airstream 22ft installed the original equalizer hitch, i had no problems with the automatic height control, travelled from canada to california mileage was between 12-13 mpg us towing with the 2004, the trailers weight is 5400 lbs unloaded.

thanks my question is do you use a equaliser hitch? and do you use a anti-sway bar my trailer tows fine but one needs an anti-sway control and if i adjust that up my height control goes into low, thats with the same trailer, same load, it seems the anti-sway control interferes in some way. some say switch the height control off, i havent tried that yet , also i have been told to just buy the equaliser hitch david
