  1. Thanks djspawn00. With the help of a friend, we took the old master cylinder apart and saw that there was a flaw on the master cylinder wall, so a kit wouldn't have solved the problem. I clearly needed a new master cylinder. The big Toyota dealer in Panama City, Panama quoted $740 for a new one, plus over 3 weeks shipping. I ordered the part on-line from RockAuto for $113, plus $55 for Fedex International Priority shipping, plus $12 duty, total $180, and had the part in my hot little hands in 10 days! Gotta love the internet and online shopping! Thanks again for the link to RockAuto. It saved me a lot of time and money. Peter
  2. Hi everyone, I'm (a Canadian) in Panama, and recently purchased a 1995 Lexus SC300 with only 55000 miles on it. Yeah, it sounds too good to be true, but I believe it is; it even has the original manual! I've driven it for a few months now, and have been happy. But recently, the brake petal has lost pressure with increasing frequency. The mechanic I took it to said that it was the master cylinder leaking, and I simply need a master cylinder kit. The Toyota dealer for Panama doesn't have one in stock, and ordering the part would take over 3 weeks. That's too long for me, so I've been searching the web for a generic kit that would fit, but haven't had any luck. Do any of you know of a generic master cylinder kit that would work? Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, Peter
