I recently replaced my stock filter with a K&N replacement. Upon opening the filter case I noticed not one but TWO filters. One that was wire meshed and practically stuck to the top of the air filter housing. The other was a white cheap paper filter. So I ripped out the wire mesh filter, and threw the paper filter and repalced the whole setup with just the K&N, which seemed to fit fine. Did I do anything wrong? Tell me the part I threw out wasn't critical to the air flow intake?!!!

This past weekend, my '07 GS450h with 16k miles lost power at expressway speed. "Check hybrid system" "Check ECB" and "Check VSC" all flashed in the monitor in between the speedo and the KWh power gauge. I pulled over and noticed that the hybrid battery had also drained to the minimum level (purple bars). Had Lexus roadside assistance tow the car to the nearest Lexus dealer. Before the tow truck arrived I decided to hit the start button again to see what happened, and to my surprise, everything seemed fine - no warning messages and car accelerated just fine. I drove it for a few miles but had it towed to the dealer anyway. A little concerned as the car has been unbelievable thus far, no complaints. Hoping this is a complete fluke and not a !Removed! in the whole hybrid technology. Anyone have a similar problem or ahve heard of this?

I just burned my entire itunes collection to a DVD+R format in hopes that I'd have my entire collection with me to play in the Mark Levinson system in my '07 GS450h. The system doesn't seem to recognize the songs on the DVD's. Any thoughts here? Do I need to use a different format DVD? Does it matter if it is DVD+R or DVD-R? Should I have instructed itunes to burn the songs in a different file format? Would like to stick to DVD's as I could fit my entire collection onto 2 discs. Otherwise, 6 CD's won't even fit haf the collection!

A couple questions. I have an early build '07 GS450h that has the 5.1 version of the DVD. What do I really gain by upgrading to the 8.1 version? Also, I understand the 8.1 version will not let you perform the override possible with the 5.1 version. Anyone know what the file is on the data disc that needs to be replaced with the file from the 5.1 disc (or where I can find that procedure)? This supposedly enables you to perform the override but with the updated map, points of interest, etc. Thanks for the help!!
