  1. I ended up putting the 626s in the back and there was no clearance problem, but thay did not fit in the factory hole. The OEM speaker was a small small one. I removed them and used a jigsaw to enlarge the hole.
  2. I had the same problem and ended up installing a bazooka self-powered sub in the back.
  3. As an side, I purchased a third-party warranty from Warranty Gold (7 years/100K)and two years after purchasing it, their underwriting firm went out of business. I would ask some serious questions about who is underwriting the policy, how long they are in business, etc before shelling out any money.
  4. Any ideas about how to use the in-console sub with an aftermarket system? It looks like it has just a left and right input going into it. Maybe just need an amp to drive it?
  5. I didnt need to mod. Speaker fits in OEM hole. You just need to use the pinching clips to attach to the door. I bought from crtuchfield and although they provided rings to help attach to the door they were too small and would have made it impossible to close the door. I also think the 626s would work for the back door. Am going to try that in a few weeks.
  6. I ended up putting JBL GTO626 in the doors. They didnt fit perfectly but pretty well and sound great.
  7. I have a 96 LX and the speaker in the driver's door is blown out. Any thoughts on which brand of speaker to go with. I am using a JVC head unit and planning on ultimately replacing it with a Nakamichi head unit. Thanks
  8. Long time lurker. Am the proud owner of a 96 lx-450 and have been having trouble with my security system. So much trouble that I left it off the other night and then discovered someone trying to steal the car early in the morning on my way to work, but that's a whole nother story. My problem is that when the alarm is set using the key fob, it will set itself off within a few moments of being set and without any intrusion of any type. I am hoping that it is a sensitivity adjustment but am worried that I have to replace the alarm module. Anyone have any similar experience? Any ideas on what a replacement module will cost? Any suggestions on an aftermarket replacement?
