  1. Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna go with 18 X 8 with at least a 40mm offset. Probably some Lowenhart BR5 look-a-likes. At least until I can afford the real ones. Am I going to need hubcentric rings and/or camber kit?
  2. I think I know what your talking about. The 98's foglights will only kick on when the main headlights are also on. There's probably a way to rig the wiring but I don't know enough about the electrical system to do it. With all the searches I've run for aftermarket parts, I've never run across an auxilliary kit. There's a guy who frequents the forums that owns an independant Lexus shop. He might be able to help you out.
  3. I've got a bunch of questions. 1. What the widest wheel you can fit on a 98 ES300? 2. Can you have staggered setup on a front wheel drive car? 3. The wheels I'm looking at are 18X8.5 with a 38mm offset, will these fit? Thanks in adavance.
  4. The prices are still a little steep for me. I'd have to drop another $600.00 on tires, mounting, and balancing. How much would the Termist TS1 Reloadeds be in 18"? Also, could you recommend some middle of the road wheel manufacturers i.e. Koenig?
  5. This is going to sound like Rims 101. 1. What's a staggered setup? 2. Will there be rubbing issues on the ES300 for the 18's? 3. Do the prices include tires? 4. What are two piece rims? 5. Is there a ride difference between 17's and 18's? 6. What are the differences between spoke, mesh, and dish? Now that the questions are out of the way, I really like the Work "Euroline KH". Here's a few problems though. $2000.00 is all I can afford for aftermarket accessories. My car already has about 125K on it and the check engine light came on last week (rear o2 sensor, $187 to replace). I'd hate to invest a large amount of money when I know that I'll have to do a major belt, hose, and plug overhaul soon, not to mention brakes. I really like the style of the "KH's". Would these tires look funny in 17's? My goal is to have to car look sporty and not too flashy. I'm a 26 year old Asian dude in the heart of Alabama. Once every two weeks or so, someone knocks on my window at an intersection asking if I sell drugs. Rims would really compound that issue. I really appreciate your help.
  6. I'm looking for 17's or 18's. I've got a budget of about $2000.00 wiith tires. I'd like to go with 18's but if the ride is too harsh, 17's would suffice. The cheaper the better. Quality is still a major factor and I'm willing to go up in budget in the name of quality. I was hoping to have a little money left over for a spoiler, front strut bar, and a eibach drop. Any suggestions? It's really hard to visualize my car with rims.
  7. That's the whole point. I'm new at this. This is my first quality car. I have no idea what's considered affordable quality rims. Can you guys point me in the right direction?
  8. Due to the negative response, I'll ask a different question. Who makes quality rims? At least a high enough caliber to be mounted on a Lexus? Where can I get them? What if I'm working on a budget?
  9. I'm trying to decide which rims to purchase for my '98 ES300. I'm having a lot of difficulty with the on-line systems that most rim sites have. The digitized pictures don't give a clear representation of the rims. What I would like are posted pictures of members with aftermarket wheels on their ES300. It'll help me figure out which size, finish, and style to decide on. Thanks in advance.
  10. Found some stock IS300 rims on E-bay for just around $300.00. I'm a little worried that the rims wont be flush with the side of the car. Anyone have any pictures of an ES300 with IS300 rims? Had my shop install Xenon bulbs on my car. Had the high, low, and fog lights done for $95.00. I hate it when people but in bright whites and forget to change out their fog lights.
  11. Hi guys, I'm a newbie to the forum. I own a '98 ES300 and like most of you, are trying to customize it. I just dropped in a k&n filter, bought the upper and lower grill kits off of ebay, and had my windows tinted. It's still pretty hard to pick out my car in crowded parking lot. I was hoping that some nice rims would set it off. Here's the problem, I'm really stuck on having rims with the lexus logo in the center of them. I really like the stock (non-chrome) 17" IS300 rims. Will the '01 or newer IS300 rims fit on my '98 ES300? If so, anyone know a good place to get stock rims? Thanks in advance. P.S. I recently had some finish chip off of my blackout pillars. The dealership said that the parts would be about $100.00 to replace. Are there any good places to purchase ES300 parts such as this or performance parts (i.e. body kits, skirts, rotors)?
