  1. Why am i getting DOS attacked from this site Norton is picking it up everytime Anyone else having this prob? IP: 69.93.226.8 Location:Dallas, Texas. If its a bug i understand, but get on top of it. If its not a bug i will nuke this IP whenever i feel like it.
  2. all of the bulbs in the rear of the es250 are cheap, dont get suckered into buying from the dealer or anything. I replaced my license plate bulbs for under $1.00. Once the lights are replaced, the dash light pertaining to burnt out lights will go out, or is supposed to, it might not if something electrical is messed up.
  3. You can use 1.99 bulbs from the hardware store for the 90-91 es250, i did, no difference in looks at all, after all the tail lights are just plain clear bulbs. Dont know if you have installed these yet but i thought i would add my 2 cents. Chris
  4. I know the es250 isnt the most common car, i have only seen 2 or 3 in michigan. Has anyone found a site that devotes at least one page to aftermarket parts, like performance parts, clear tail lights, ect.?
  5. i had to replace one of mine this fall. It's a piece of cake. The only hard part is getting the boot off. 1) take the rubber boot off. (might be hard to take off like mine was but just keep trying.) 2) do not unplug the harness from the bulb before the boot is off. 3) once the boot is off, unplug the wire harness from the back of the bulb. 4) now there should only be 2 silver things sticking out. (These are the ends of the bulb.) 5) take out the old bulb. (should slide right out, may be a round plastic lock around it like on the headlights, i cant remember. if there is a lock just twist it off.) 6) once the old bulb is out, put in the new one. 7) now hook the harness back onto the bulb. 8) Finally, put the rubber boot back over the entire light, like it was before. vola, you have just installed your replacement lights. Remeber the hardest thing about this is getting the rubber boot off because of the cramped space. Good luck Chris
  6. Yeah the back windows are tinted, not that deep though. Not sure what percent. I dont think i would want it any deeper though. Thanks for the appraisal! When i got the car the chrome on the center caps was all gone leaving a green look to them. Lexus wanted $320 for the set of four. I went on ebay and after 2 years of looking i found replacements for $80. But i had to drive aroudn for 2 years looking like crap. Chris
  7. Yeah man i know what its like, im in school too. Sucks not to have money, i have to replace the CV shaft on my car, thats gonna kill my budget with labor costs.
  8. I guess it wont let me post more than one pic. Sorry.
  9. Heres a far away shot i took this summer after i washed my car, i forgot i had it. If you want a closer pic just tell me. Michigan winters havent been nice to them they are starting to peel in the corners. Ohh well.
  10. Yeah ill do it tommorow after class if its sunny out, but i might be able to get a good pic in the garage. I think that the option is called "Premium wheel package" They're the same size and shape as the non chrome wheels. Ill get the pic up. Chris
  11. Should i change my oil again just to put a new filter on? Is there a pretty good chance that im not going to have a problem if i just put a different filter on in 2500-3000 miles. In other words is this something that needs to be changed right now, or at the next oil change? Thanks Chris
  12. Yeah i dont know if you ahve checked out ebay, but they usually have the entire motor and mast assembly for like 24.95, if you look around then you will definetly get a good one on there. Thats what i did with my es250. Chris
  13. Crap i just put a fram filter on yesterday, whats wrong with them?
  14. I have been putting in max life 10W30 ($2.59 quart at autozone) lately, i cant complain. I guess if my engine still works the same its a good thing lol. 160,000 miles. Sprung for the bosch filter last time, $6.99. my car is worth it HAHA.
  15. Happened to me last spring, sounds like you need to replace it. Not that tough of a job. I bought my replacement off of ebay for about $20.00. The install took about a half hour. Most likely the plastic track inside the antenna broke apart inside the motor. What i did is took the entire assembly out of my car. 1. Take out of car. (Usually held on with a few bolts.) 2. Unscrew cover the to the motor housing. 3. Locate the piece of track that is broken off inside. 4. Put on the new antenna. You will probably see that the instructions say to turn ON the radio, and then feed the new antenna track attached to the metal antenna down into the motor. Then turn the radio OFF and let the plastic track slide into the motor. This should pretty much take care of it. Im sure there is a site with better instructions on it, when i bought the antenna off of ebay it came with online tech support. Hope this helps Chris
  16. I've never seen another ES250 with the premium chrome wheel package. My 91 has them, i feel special LOL jk. Does anyone else have them, or was this not a common option?
  17. Yeah and i dont know about other models but the es250 has the "ECT POWER" button for faster acceleration. Thanks again for clearing this up for me. I understand now. Chris
  18. Ahh i kept reading steviej's post, i was missreading it. I understand now. Thanks for all the help. Chris.
  19. Steviej said its not for towing. now im confused. ive had my es250 for 3 years. When you turn an es250 off the OD does not reset, it might on other models. But that really doesnt matter. So let me see if i have this. Leave the OD on for normal everyday driving, like around town. Turn it off when i need to tow, or pass someone? Ive always just used it when i need to climb inclines, and when i want to pass. When i am driving and turn the OD off i feel a the car shift, sounds like something is dropping into place.
  20. Steviej said the exact opposite, he said its not for towing. I guess what will help me out is if i know: When it should be on. And when it should be off. When you turn it off a light comes on in the dash saying that it is off, and when i see a light come on that means to me that its probably not supposed to be on all the time only under certain circumstances. If the OD was supposed to be off most of the time then i would think they would make it so the light went on when you turned the OD on instead of off. Thats just what i have in my head right now.
  21. Im starting to get it. Doesnt having the OD off (so the light under the speedometer says "O/D off") burn up more gas? What youre saying is i should keep it off. When should i keep it on. I really appreciate you clearing this all up for me. Chris
  22. Thanks for all the help guys, ill stop by autozone or advance auto parts sometime this week and look at prices, ill keep you posted. Thanks Chris
  23. So the OD isnt for going fast, its for towing and stuff like that huh. Thanks for the replies. Chris
  24. I always wanted to know when i should be turning the Overdrive off. I know it turns the car from a 4spd-3spd, or maybe its from a 5spd-4spd. But what driving conditions call for the use of this? If im jsut driving around town under 50mph do i want the overdrive on or should i have it off. Lexus es250
  25. That would explain the rougher ride lately. Thanks for all of the help. I hope this doesnt suck the money outta my wallet. Chris
