  1. has anyone had this problem before? it fires up fine and the when i drive off it starts to sputter :censored: i resete the codes and as soon as i turn on the car it turns on the check light

    13 - RPM signal no. 2 This is the one that gives me the miss fire!

    27 - Sub-oxygen sensor signal (on left bank)

    29 - Sub-oxygen sensor signal (on right bank)

    The 27 and 29 are beacuse i have bad o2's and the car has an Exhaust leak by the o2's

    can anyone give me any ideas on what to look for???

    p.c the car already had a tune up! cap rotors wires plugs iac valve i had a burned ecu and i had it fixed cause i couldnt find one!!! the car is super clean inside and out it has 196k on the dash its a 1992 LEXUS SC400 V8 1UZ-FE OH THE RPM TACH DOESNT WORK EATHERIT COMES AND GOES BUT I HAVENT SEEN IT ON IN A LONG TIME!!!!

    someone here w/b and told me to check the distrbutor wires that corode and give trouble so i when lookin and that was the problem it was grounding of and given me that code 13 so it fixed! ! ! ! !

    I would agree with www.autotrader.com I would also look on www.craigslist.com

    Try this one http://fayar.craigslist.org/cto/816225432.html VERY cheap for an SC400, he does mention some cosmetic flaws, but I would check it out. Make the seller send you pictures. :)

    i took a hella lose with mines 196k 800 bucks in parts an still giving trouble this thing is worse than an rx7!

    im ready to beat the breaks off this car everything is money with this car.

    all i wanna do is drive it around with no problems but it looks like im going to sell it as soon as i get it fixed im going back to my lt1 big bodys after this! B) B) B)

  4. code 27 is a bad o2 sensor. check along your exhaust system for week ones.

    i have it saved to my favs!!! long time agoi hope all this info helps everyone else! i really can try anything else till i get a new ecu! i really wish i never got into this car!!!!!!!!! ive spent about 700 bucks on making it look good run good a.c tune up i mean so much cash right after i got it!!!! i havent even put 100miles on it! it drove home frome the guys house that was it! i said let me give it a tune up you know to welcome it too the new home and look how it wants to act! i lalso have a 3rd gen es300 pushing 250k on it and no trouble what so ever in the second owner i got it with 60k almost new i beat the brakes of it a real trooper 140mph on the highway at 3:30 am thats what i call a good lexus its my wifes daily drive it gets miles all in all i realy wish i never got this car as some as its up and running its sold for what ever i can get for it! :angry::angry::angry:

    well i fixed it! its was the ecu that was burned!!!

    then the idel air control valves gasket was bad fixed that too!

    now i have code 13 - RPM signal no. 2 and the car sputters when i drive off and cel is on too! can anyone give any ideas on what to look for??? is rpm signal #2 the coil and if so witch one drives side next to the a.c compresor or not?

    well i got if fixed it was the plugs! looks like thyve never been changed and the had water in them! !

    next issue the car was ideling bad ruff and them to high so i screwed around and now the car is in limp mode! i disconeted the battery erased the codes and them its fires up in limp mode! code 27 and 24 can anyone please help me ???? i feel like burning the dam car! i swear too god i well two bucks in gas and a camara ! and it well be on you tube! help me someone!!

    code 27 is your sub o2 sensor(s)

    code 24 is air intake temp. signal

    I would go to the o2 sensors first. since your plugs got fouled; I'd say that your o2's got fouled as well.

    yeah i would think so too but i checked the ecu and it was fried i opened it up and it smelled burned so i looked around and for the burned spots !!!!! so i really cant do any thing till i replace it ! im sure its just the ecu toke a sh-t on me!!! its a bad trip im havin with this car i just got it and its been one thing after the other!!! its going for sale as soon as i get it running thanks for the advise bro

  8. IM HAVIN TROUBLE WITH THE CAR RUNNING BETTER I CHANGED CAP,ROTOR,,WIRES,PLUGS, RAN FINE FOR ABOUT 30 MINS THEN IT WENT INTO LIMP MODE NO POWER IT WILL NOT REV UP CLEAN OR STAY ON ! ANY IN FO I THINK IT MIGHT BE THE CUMPUTER THAT BURNED OUT BUT I CANT FINT IT SO I CAN OPEN IT UP! CAN ANYONE HELP?????

    Computer is located under the passenger side kick panel, you have to pull back the carpet and remove the cover plate. I removed the glove box as well just to have alot more room to work.

    THANKS i found it last night i opened it up and found some burned spots so i take it fried! it really sucks man i keep dumpin money into it and it wants to act stupid!!! ill post some pics later today of what i think is a burned ecu see what everyone thinks!!! but thanks alot for w/b with your info man its good to know people arent just reading it and going on! ill post updates for everyone a.s.a.p

    how interchangabe are they like what years ecus can i play with my cars a 1992 sc400???

    Passenger rear 1/4 panel, previous owner scraped up against somthin. Really not much damage.

    what ever i fixed my brak lights if anyone having problems like me! frist they didnt wanna work at all only parking lights so its been three days with no brake lights checked bulbs, checkd brake switch checked conections finally it was the brake fuse in the kick panel that i couldnt find !it was loose and had coroted a bit cleaned it and put a new fuse ! done ! now to see if i can wire my radio with out the amp ill get back with a yes or no!!! thanks anyways :angry::angry::angry:

  14. can someone post in this thread the exact part numbers that are needed if one was to replace their tranny mounts and engine mounts? i would be most appreciative.

    TO CHECK THE MOUNTS YOU NEED A FRIEND AROUND!

    START THE CAR OPEN THE HOOD HAVE YOUR BUDDY PRESS THE BRAKES AND PUT IT IN REVERSE THE REV IT WITHOUT LETTING THE BRAKES GO KINDA STALL THE CAR AND SEE IF IT MAKES THE MOTOR JUMP THEN DO THE SAME IN DRIVE IF YOUR MOUNTS ARE GOING BAD OR ARE GONE YOULL SEE THE MOTOR WANNA JUMP OUT OF PLACE! HAY IM NEW HERE BUT NOT NEW TO CARS TRY IT OUT!!!! ;)

  16. Yeah, to me it sounds like the spark plugs have a moisture buildup in it. Try to blow it with some compressed air and see it does the trick. If not consider replacing your spark plugs and spark-plug wires. it sounds like the seals around the cables are worn.

    let the car warm up for a few minutes rev it up and see if it clears up the head should dry of the water and stop it from missfiring! if not take off thrwire cove with rhe four 10mm screws and see if you see any waterlingering around dri it off ans look for any arking wires is sound like a tickin sound whe the car is on and after youre done diconected your batt for a few minutes ! YOU CAN DO IT ;) ;) ;) ;)
