  1. I'm in Canada and I don't think anybody installs it here. I could buy it, but I guess I would have to do it myself and looking at their instructions that I downloaded off their website, it's not as easy as they claim. So you need to make modifications in order to raise those windows? I saw a Mercedes and some other cars with the quarter windows up, so I thought it was possible on the Lexus too, by simply pressing a button.
  2. Is there a way to raise the quarter windows when the top is down? I am trying to minimize the air flow inside by lifting both the side windows and the quarter windows when I'm driving over 100km/h. Thanks!
  3. Has anyone ever changed or attempted to change the antenna on the SC430 from the original power one to a fixed style one? This may be the ugliest thing on this car and it is also prone to jamming, especially in cold weather. Thanks!
  4. Hmm...4 inches! That's not a lot. But I guess this will be the case with any car without the all-wheel-drive.
  5. Hi all, I am thinking of buying a 2003 SC430 in about two weeks. From what I've been reading in these forums, there are no major problems with them and they seem very reliable. I was just wondering about driving one of these in the winter. We get pretty bad winters here in Quebec and I'm a little scared about the rear wheel drive. I've had all-wheel-drive cars for the past 5 years or so and I don't know what to expect from this one. Of course I will install a set of good winter tires on it. :) Any thoughts on that? Thanks!
  6. I'm in the exact same position. I just yesterday paid for a 04 with more miles, but $1000 less price. For me the list of items to check included: - carfax. The more history the more confidence you can have on it's treatment over its childhood. - wheels and tires. Are they satisfactory or do they need changing. I had to change pie plates out, so having found a car with aftermarket wheels saved me $2000. And that they have Toyo Proxes (non Run Flat) tires saves me another $1000 that I would have spent. - dvd all working? - floor matts in good shape? - keys. does it have at least two master keys, and hopefully a valet key (although in my 45 years on this earth I have yet to need one). - warranty - in service date. This is a biggie to me. If the car has some warranty left I feel I have some protection. And if its still under warranty you can buy a lexus extended warranty for a reasonable price . (PM me for details if you're interested and I'll let you know where they're 30 - 45 % off.) - seller. Are they a little broker or a large dealer. I have more confidence buying from a Lexus dealer than some small lot auto broker in Parsippany. :-) Jerry Hi, I just signed up to this board and I think I'm not allowed to send you any PMs. I was planning on getting an SC430 soon and I wanted to know about that extended warranty. With the dealership I was told it's about $3000. Any idea where else I could get such warranty in Canada (Montreal)? Thanks!
