2007 Lexus GX 470 Silver / tan
162K miles
Runs well, 4k Royal Purple oil / filter change synthetic, change all fluids often coolant, transmission, front & rear differential, power steering fluid, flush brake fluid every 30K miles
Alternator was replaced 145K. I keep it in the garage looks new. Best vehicle I have ever owned. 12 years old

Probably cleared code first visit & thought cleaning sensor worked. Most likely it was fuel cap 13 yrs old.

2007 GX 470 with 139K miles on it. My VSC TRAC, VSC OFF & check engine lights went on.I ordered a new gas cap from Lexus partsnow for $16.90 and this fixed the problem
-
Car looks brand new. Rims look original. Nice work.
-
Little darker than originals but I picked the color and it was only $250 for set of four.
They are not perfect since the oxidation pitting was too deep if few spots to clean out but I'm happy.
Would you guess 300K miles the way she looks?

2007 GX 470 136,000 miles runs and looks great. Had the drive shaft replaced due to the thump and the dashboard replaced under warranty. Only normal wear items I have replaced tires, brakes, battery and a few light bulbs. I use Royal Purple synthetic motor oil and differential Royal Purple gear oil. The car averages 17 MPG and cruises well on the highway.
Bob, I would suggest replacing your timing belt asap, unless you forgot to mention it or you're giving up on it.
I have now little over 300K miles on the clock, had the wheels powder coated to bring her back to full beauty.
I bought it with broken timing belt & bent valves, previous owner neglected this important maintenance item and he had to sell it when dealer quote for repair was $6,000 (new engine or repair his original).
Definitely the best car I owned so far!
Forgot to post: at 86,000 miles I replaced the timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt, thermostat, belt tensioners, flushed the coolant, world standard transmission fluid, spark plugs and wires. air cleaner and cabin filter every year. How did your powder coated wheels turn out? factory color?

Update: 141K miles replaced alternator. GX470 runs perfect and is garage kept.

Just had my dash replaced on my 2007 GX 470 with 136,000 miles under good will warranty, Lexus sent me a post card Jan 2015 in the mail stating the problem. September 2015 parts finally arrived. The dash did not crack just sticky, my GX is garage kept out of the sun.I always blamed my wife asking her is she spilled nail polish remover. lol The Lexus dealer had trouble removing the A-pillars due to the windshield being replaced and too much sealant glued the A-pillar to the windshield. The A-pillars were $159.00 each, the dealer tried to have me pay for them, I contacted Lexus corporate and they good willed the additional parts and labor. The dealer did a great job and I am satisfied.

Bummer, Not your fault! Even when you defensive park a moron can find you. I parked my 2007 GX at the Borgata Casino 4-rows from all the parked cars by itself, I came out 4-hours later and a moron parked a old Chevy blazer right next to me and opened the side rear door right into my rear fender flare. I could see the black plastic underneath and the titanium silver paint was peeled and raised off as I walked up. This is my only ding on a perfect garage kept GX470 I touched it up and it still looks terrible. I got a quote from an auto body shop they quoted $1,700.00 they would have to paint the door and flare and buff the whole side to match the silver paint. Good luck cleaning yours up, I feel your pain.

I have a 2008 GX470 with a vibration in the floor on the drivers side that annoys the h*** out of me. It isn't related to vehicle speed or engine speed although the dealer blames it on the tires which I replaced anyway. I wouldn't even call it a vibration, it is more of a resonance. It feels like a thousand bees in a plastic bag trying to get out. I can feel it through the gas pedal, brake pedal and floor board. It gets better and worse for no apparent reason.
I don't know if that makes sense but I am about ready to sell the thing if I can't figure it out. Has anyone else had a problem like this and if so what was the cause?
There is a bulletin from Lexus that have a drone sound/ vibration from the differential on years 03 to 08 covered under warranty under 70 k miles. They install a dynamic differential damper, check the site under drone sound/ mann has some bulletins posted. Good Luck on the repair/ check with your dealer.

Sounds like you got a nice deal. Yes the one I looked at had all options plus rear entertainment. $68,200.00 on Lexus factory sticker and no other add ons.
Good luck.
-
Nice looking GX 460 if you don't mind me asking what kind of deal did you negotiate with the dealer. My dealer would only come down 3K from 68 K sticker price, I decided to wait 1-year. Good Luck with your new 460

The vibration TSB is attached for all, I had the similar problem, and the differential dampers solved the issue. Hoping it does for you'll.
Mann,
I have a 2007 gx 470 with 62k miles do you think I should have this done before warranty runs out, I feel a little vibration at 70 mph?
Thanks

Test drove the new 2010 GX 460 yesterday. The interior was very nice, I didnt like they stuck with the hinged rear swing door. The exterior looks very blah, like a Toyota Highlander. Lexus did a nice job with the electronics. The GX I drove had a $68,400.00 window sticker price.
The dealer only has 1-black unit.
-
I was dis-appointed with the exterior, very generic looking for a 60k suv. Also the rear door they kept hinged instead of hatch style. I beleive these we're money saving reasons. The interior and the electronics all looked fine. Basically a refresh with new motor, transmission & interior.
-
Lexus.com now has the 2010 GX460 posted with Pictures and pricing. My dealer tells me he should see a couple of units end of December 2009.
They did a great job with the interior, engine and electronics. Exterior looks too similar to the old GX 470 a little boring for a 60K unit.

Guys,
Has anyone here ever tried to repair (crackling sound) the subwoofer on their GX470? Can the cover grill be removed and the cone repaired with a glue gun?
I read this somewhere on the LS forum, but I want to know if this works on the ML subwoofer on a GX470.
Rj
I just had my passenger side sub-woofer replaced in my 2007 GX under warranty the sub-woofer was $173.00 plus install. Lexus covered under warranty my gx has 34,000 miles.

I had the same problem and found these instructions posted on a Lexus IS forum:
"first hold the "info" button (I did it for about 5 secs) then switch your parking light switch from off-to parking lights-repeatedly while still holding the info button....it takes about 5-6 cycles...an poof the NAV screen enter yet another Service menu. From there I navigated to a bluetooth menu where I was able to adjust the Microphone volume higher so that people can hear me better!"
I have a 2006 GX470 and I was able to increase my microphone volume this way. I believe it is called "send voice volume" in the menu. I set it to 3 and people no longer keep saying "I can barely hear you"
Of course, this is a service menu menu so be carefull what you change.
I had the same problem and did your fix and it worked. The factory had the adjustment on 0 adjustment is from 0 to 5 now people can hear me talikng on the bluetooth better. Thanks

MY 2007 GX 470 WITH 22,400 MILES STARTING HAVING A CLUNK WHEN I STOPPED. IT FELT LIKE SOME TAPPED MY REAR BUMPER. CALLED THE LOCAL LEXUS DEALER THEY HAD PARTS IN STOCK. THEY REPLACED THE DRIVESHAFT ASSY. AND CONTROL ARMS. DRIVES LIKE A DREAM, IT FIXED THE PROBLEM. NOT WORRIED COVERED WITH STANDARD DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY 7-YEARS OR 70,000 MILES DEALER GAVE ME A LEXUS LOANER FOR THE DAY AND CLEANED CAR NO CHARGE. A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE.
