  1. I have a complete nakamichi sound system for sale, speakers, sub woofer, amp, head unit and cd changer if anybody is interested? I will part it out separately if somebody is interested in a specific item. Give me a good offer and whatever you need is yours.

Email me at taylor_lovelace@yahoo.com if you have any questions!

  2. hey my aunt gave me a 92' sc300 for my birthday and i want to put a sub in the trunk. i know the car allready has an amp but idont know what its for. do you have to bypass it or can you go throught it to power the sub. ive been to 3 different speaker stores and got 3 different awnsers but they all say its a pain to wire is this true?so now im asking you guys. has anyonehere every put subs in my kind of car? if so tell me how you did it or how much it cost for instoling it

just go to walmart and purchase a scosche wiring harness for a 1991 toyota supra and install a cd deck or a monitor style reciever in place of the factory radio unit and fit what you can in the trunk. if you use this wiring harness from scosche, it will allow you to keep your factory speaker and back dashboard sub and the factory amp in the passenger side trunk floor. if the factory speakers aren't dry rotted or damaged and sound terrible, i would change them out. thats were the real drama begins. B)

........yes please!!!! While you are at it do yourself a favor a change out the back speakers like he said...... It would have saved me time... I suggest to do so yourself!

  3. May anyone please add a picture where diagnostics socket is located under the steering wheel on SC400 ? Or at least more detailed explanation where to find this socket.

I do not have error code reader but i've read how to manually pull the codes via "engine check" indicator blinking pattern.

    Thanks

Mind sending me a link to this manual? I haven't been able to find it.

Update: I finally found the website, it is for the Ls400 but pretty much the same motor.

    Hope this helps others!

  5. Hello,

i've found several good manuals how to manually pull Lexus engine codes (without code reader tool).

However i am not sure where code reader connectors is located in SC400. Some sources indicate it is located somewhere under steering wheel.

    Where exactly to look?

    The picture will certainly help.

    Best regards,

    Stan

  6. honestly there is not much you can do to get the car not to sound like a chevy v8. reason 1 is because it is a v8. reason 2 is it has the same firing order as a chevy v8. of course bore and stroke have alot to do with it but why does an f355 sound the way it does? firing order plays a big part. the 1uz and chevy small blocks both have a 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 firing order. the f355 fires 1-5-3-7-4-8-2-6.

hmm so to get my sc4 to sound like a f355 I should get it to fire in that order?!?!??!

Naw just messing with you man. Personally I dont think the chevy v8's sound all that bad. But I love my lex more!

  7. aiite their is 95 sc400 wit 125k on it the guy says the fuel pump is bad he says it the only thing wrong wit it wat should i look for and wat kind of common prob does it hav can anyone giv me some tips and suggestion on it including how much would it be to rebuild the tranz and engine

Well for starters when the turn the key into the start position (without evening cranking the motor) you should be able to hear the fuel pump running. Pop the trunk and put your head near the trunk lining behind the rear window the fuel tank and pump is right there. If you can hear that most likely its working. If not then it is either a fuel pump problem or the fuel ecu (did I say that right?) which can be bypassed very easily and is a 30 minute fix that cost nothing.

Rebuilding the trans and engine.. ehh sorry man but no idea here.

    Good luck!

  8. I m new here. i bought 92 sc300 5 speed like 2 months ago. i rode it a lot for work. that day D1 drifter at speedway then i was on way to there. later my sc300 got overheat like 5 min and off igiton and keep drive to speedway and let it cool down almost there speedway then i decide to on igition key and push clutch with stick 2 gear speed then wont run like wtf. but made it to park alot where in gas station. i left sc300 there to join my friend car to d1. later after d1 went to gas station for check if run and fill water of coolant but i saw leak then under of engine that was radiator. my friend got truck and tow my car to home. next day i remove radiator and fan for check on belt timing, spark, fuses, ignition, everything are fine cause i test run with spark plug was on and fuel pump is on too. i changed coil ignition. i research said EEC like ECU. if would change new ECU then would be run for real? If you know about what about wrong or need replace then contact me and Please help me out. thank you

Have you checked the thermostat or the water pump? I had a friend that couldn’t figure out why his car was over heating (Pontiac Grand Prix) it took me like 5 minutes to realize DUH it was the thermostat it wasn’t opening to let coolant in.

    Hope that helps man

  9. wat should i beware for car not runnin becuz fuel tank 4 is off becuz he says da fuel pump is bad he says dat nuthin ejse is wrong he wants 1500 for the car should i buy it and if i got to rebuild the motor or the tranz how much would it cost pleez help

Err im going to attempt and respond to your message.... here it goes...

The Sc400's fuel tank is basically behind the back seat. In order to replace to fuel pump all one must do is open the trunk remove the trunk lining and BOOM! fuel pump. You dont even have to drain the tank. So.... if the fuel tank is out because the fuel pumps is bad..... Then either he fails or something else is wrong with it. I would just keep saving up money man. Wait till you get a few more grand then shop around.

  10. I am totally rebuilding my sound system in my sc4. I was curious about others views on which company produces the best after markets speakers that will fit in the car (4") without any modifications. Also what sub would be best (looking more for bass then the "Gangsta Gangsta" trunk rattling crap) as well as amp to power it with.

    Thank you for your time,

    DT

Update Alright I think I have decided on the Infinity Kappa 4" for the four speakers, 800watt sony xplode(because im a cheap a$$) unless somebody knows a better amp for the price? and for the sub a 12 inch Pioneer 4-Ohm Subwoofer With Shallow Mount Design since 12" subs fit in the stock sub mount.

Yes No? what do you guys think?

  11. Does anyone know how to remove the back seat so I can get acess to my rear speakers? I replaced the amp but I am not getting sound from rear speakers, I quess once I rule out the back speakers the radio head unit would have to be the issue. Thanks in advance.

Attached is a link that will show you how to remove the back seat. Just scroll down a little bit and you will see that its really very simple.

    hope this helps!

  12. Ripped all of the Nakamichi junk out! Put new door speakers and tweeters in. Replaced rear deck speakers and the sub. Sub got replaced with a Kicker competition 8. Put a strictly digital input Alpine head unit in with an Autotek amp bridged pushing the 8. Rest of speakers running off of deck power. Now it sounds like it should. Clear and loud.

What speakers did you put in? I have been thinking about doing the samething to mine.

    -Thanks,

    Taylor

  13. I know its already been stated but I wanted to stress the fact that BEST BUY, CIRCUIT CITY AND ALL OTHER MAJOR COMPANIES WILL DESTROY YOUR CAR!! I recently had a deck installed by Circuit City and it sounds horrible some how they wired it wrong and when the idiot went to test out the new deck it blew ALL my speakers as well as tweeters. I have been fighting it ever since and now that they are going out of business looks like im screwed....
