Ok so a month ago I tried putting some injector cleaner in the tank and since then I have not had a problem. I'm not sure that it is fixed but at least the car hasn't tried to cut off on my lately. Thanks to everyone for your feedback!

Hey Rookie is this true? Sorry I'm a little late on this forum but my IS was sold to me with ML as well and my radio says nothing at all. I just took the dealers word. But I do have what appears to be a real speaker in the middle of my dash so is that ML? Thanks!! Mark Levinson systems say "Mark Levinson" on them. Look at pix of the interior of the car at lexus.com--you'll see it. You said you got it from the dealer--was it new? If so, what does the window sticker say? If it doesn't say "Mark Levinson" you don't have it. I bought the car from a Lexus dealer pre-owned. On the front of my stereo/nav it says nothing. Not even lexus premium audio like someone mentioned earlier. Where would the sticker you're referring to be located? I'd like to check that out. It really upsets me that my dealer might have lied to me. Can a dealership tell if they run the VIN? Thank you!!!

I have an appt. to drop the car off again next Tuesday. Yesterday my car started to violently shake as I was coming to a stop and continued to do so until I let off the brake. Normally it starts to shake when I am already stopped so this was a first. I have never let my tank go below half until the dealer asked me too. I have run the tank close to empty twice and used the dry gas but there's definitely a chance that some kind of sediment could be in my tank. I'm just hoping the dealer can tell me something because yesterday was the worst yet and it really scared my daughter. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and thanks also for the links, I will definitely read them. I'll will keep everyone posted.

totally agree, try to stick with premium 93 octane gas. you car will love you and stick with chevron and shell. Thank you! I actually live right next to a Shell so that's usually what I use but we had some really cold weather here recently and that's what the dealer thinks might have caused water to get into my tank. I've tried running dry-gas through a full tank and I am almost on E now and my car almost cut off again today. So my hope is that if there was any water in my tank, it should be almost clear?

Hi there! My vehicle actually has exactly what you're talking about. It came to me that way because I bought my IS used from TX and had it shipped to VA - but a friend of mine told me that it's actually a type of spray that has been done on my tail lights. If you look at them (even up close) it looks like they were made that way so whoever did it did an excellent job - my dealership even complimented them...lol - I wish I could help more.

I'm not sure if this is the same issue or not but a few months ago I started hearing a loud pinging sound when I would hit bumps in the road. It sounded like it was coming from the back windsheild. Took it to Lexus twice, second time I asked to have a tech ride with me because they never could hear it. Turned out it was coming from the sunroof and it was a metal strip that they glue in (which he was not supposed to tell me that it was *glued*) and it had come loose. It runs the entire length of the sunroof and they had to take down my whole interior and replace the sunroof completely. Very $$ but if this was the same issue I had it drove me nuts!!

I have a Lexus ’07 IS250 and a few months ago, while waiting at a red light, my RPM’s dropped to almost 0 and my car started shaking like it was going to cut off. The same thing happened a few weeks later and has since happened a total of 8 times. I have taken the car to the dealer twice and they have found nothing wrong. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if so, what turned out to be the problem. If you haven't had the issue I'm open to any ideas about what the problem might be!! My dealership is pretty clueless and although I will admit I’ve had a quite a bit of warranty work done, I almost always have to diagnose myself. Thanks!!
