  1. Take a look into Dent Masters, which services paintless dent removal in VA, MD and Washington DC.

    http://www.dentmasters.com/paintlessdentremoval.html

Dent Master siad they can't repair it as dent is in a place where they can't access and they do not take bumper off , repair and fix it. Is there any place where they take bumper of f, repair and fix it.

Such a small dent (too much money to replace) and can't live with it :(

  2. Hit gently a truck in slow moving traffic on belt-way and there is little(2 quarters size) dent on front bumper, with 2 scratches. So, wanted to take care of it. Just wondering is there any easy of doing it or have to approach professional, how much they might charge ?

  3. I have just noticed my ES 300 heated seats stop working ? Anyway to troubleshoot whats going on, all happned was cleaning carpet and mats couple of times. Is it fuse blown or connections got disconnected ? or what could be te issue which was working perfectly a month ago stop working. Obviously, seats have not been on for heat since a month after we got into spring. Any help would be appreciated.

  4. SW03ES,

Thanks. I'm little picky on using combination products as we don't know how they turn out on long term though it doesn't show any issues initially. Thats why. Personally I like 303 Aerospace Protectant as its not greasy and gives great look and UV protection. So, once the seats are conditioned wanted to protect from the UV rays frequently as we are gonna hit hot summer and mine doesn't have even tinting for which I'm shopping around to get it done soon. Any good place/reference for good tinting work ? Thanks again.

  5. TOGWT,

So from what you are telling the 3-step process as outlined below should make lexus leather seats durable/looking good/last longer ? Am I right ?

    Cleaning - Woolite solution/Leather cleaner

    Conditioning - Lexol/Other leather conditionaer

UV portection - 303 or like product

I was wondering there having coat of 303 on lexol will cause any issues ? Thanks for response though.

  6. it's a common problem with many cars nowadays.

The filter is the best place to start as I did all suggestions here on my ES last May.

I can say that after you spray cowls and ducts with Lysol or Simple Green, your AC will blow this smell for a couple of weeks. I tried it with both heat and AC.

The problem lies in the filter. Changing the filter totally rid the AC of the horrid smell......kinda like really bad feet. I just change it once a year now, right before heavy AC use (May).

The dealer nails you with the cost.

I get mine now at www.irontoad.com. They are half the price.

I do feel that on 1998 ES300(Not sure it does have a filter), could some one throw some light on getting rid of the smell on ES300 Please. Thanks

I agree but Lexus/Toyota only covers it for 8 years from what I read. After 8 years you are out of luck. I would rather have it blow in that time frame then 9 years down the road.

What about stay home mom never drives 50/100 miles a day, who can only put 5000 miles an year, meaning it takes 20 years to reach 100K miles and something happens after 8 years and around 50K miles,. Its just fate or preferring lexus over other vehicles when she bought. I have seen people using cars more than 12 years with 50/60K miles...

  8. LexusFreak,

Dealers are so stupid if you / they don't experience unusual behaviour (in test drive) they are not gonna say its affected, else you have to accept the charges for testing the engine for the problem as its on your request. I don't know howmuch is hourly rate for labourin Toronto, here it is $89. Its crazy for people(who care for their car, before it breaks) to know all these sludge issues and spend.

  9. I think there were only a select few of cars (in the thousands) that this happened to. I want to say only like 3000 but I could be wrong. Also “the Lexus free engine” program  :D  is only good for 8 years or 1,000,000 miles (kidding-unlimited miles).

I don't understand lexus saying this. Well maintained engine is engine no matter howmany miles on it and how old it is. If sludge happens anytime, Lexus should be taking care., Anyway even for 8 years they are not offering free engine without documentation of relevant oil changes and proof that the car has not been neglected from basic maintenance. Why this is valid for only 8 years and 100K miles??? Not a clue.

  10. Thanks for all your responses, I appreciate it. As mine is little forgiving color(diamond white pearl) not metallic like silver and other dark colors I have decided to try Eagle1 products... considering ease of use

Wash 1stTime (with diswash liquid to remove existing coat of wax if any)

Wash with Clay (to remove contaminants).

    Wash 2ndTime with Carwash liquid.

Dry with microfibre towel or California water blade.

Apply Nano Wax (says it includes little polish and helps)

Wax As-U-Dry as interim protection between car washes.

Advise me if the process is not right and also suggest me some local store avalable product for tire cleaner/treater/protector. Planning to do either this week/next week and post couple of pics after done...

Thanks a bunch for this forum advisors, participants who always respond with their experiences for newbies like me. :) This forum had been GREAT from day 1 (since I have become LXS owner, even before for an advise on getting one).

  11. A common misconception from people who don't have money, people with money just should/do throw it around on anything regardless of the price. People who really have money don't waste it. If you waste money needlessly then eventually it will catch up to you and you wont have any money anymore. People who waste money don't really have any money in the first place, they just want to look/feel like they do.

Well said. Save little where there is a possibility for saving, spend where you can't save but have to spend., that little you saved earlier makes difference.

  12. SW0ES,

Let me put it this way, when I initially see clean the dip stick with tissue it shows somewhat yellowish and after a while it turns little reddish color. Does that make sense ? Or really someone used wrong transmission fluid. As for as I know the car has not been filled with/serviced @ different location than where the car has been crought other than regular/routine oil changes. Hopefully lexus dealers who sold the car will not use wrong fluid when its serviced for 35 K miles maintenance. What do you say... May be my half knowledge in describing the color of liquid. I will once again check tomorrow.... and probably get checked from silverspring dealer on my way to work on Mon/Tue.

  13. Generally a "tune up" means they're replacing the spark plugs, sorry for the mixup.

According to my last invoice from Lexus of Silver Spring the oil filter part number is 90915-YZZD1, that is the part number for the genuine Toyota filter. As for the oil I don't know as I bring my own synthetic oil.

Check the fluid level, what color is it and what is it's consistency?

Who are you dealing with at Silver Spring?

Color of oil is yellowish on the tissue (dark) and has burnt smell, I talk to yesterday Bob(I guess) and other day Peter (Service Manager).

  14. Got the clear invoice with part#s and cost for the parts where it shows the kinda oil and filter they used for my ES.

I'm right now @ 55K (last major tune-up was @ 35K) and concerned about my ATF fluid burning smell and hesitation for transmission switch @ lower gears. Dealer service Manager says Okay ( Called in today) to drive for 5K and will do 60K tune-up which takes care of everything.

Not sure to go with what dealer says or try draining and refill ATF before I go for 60K tune-up.

  15. Silverspring Used castrol oil for my oil chage and filter part# ends with YZDD1. How can I trust these guys and what they use. Manufactuers always say we don't have control over dealers if something goes wrong.

If lexus/toyota don't use manufacturer specified parts who the hell follow recommended parts/fluids by manufacutrer ?

Got another estimation for 60 K service from local shop for $900 which includes flush N fill service of all the fluids with tune-up. Just wondering isn't it good idea to buy parts from local toyota/lexus shop and get the tune-up done outside...
