I'm writing to urge all GX-470 owners to start reporting problems/complaints regarding this vehicle to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

They do not need to receive a specific number of complaints before they look into a problem. The information is entered into NHTSA's vehicle owner's complaint database and used with other complaints to determine if a safety-related defect trend exists.
Additionally, check your states attorney general's office to see what remedies exist in your area (lemon law). Dont hestitate because there are rules regarding the amount mileage on the vehicle and length of time you've owned it. Otherwise, LEXUS will continues to ignore us and we're stuck with thumping trucks.
Venting here is fine but it's not going to get the manufacturers attention!!! Perhaps only a class action lawsuit will-- in the meantime, complain loud and persistently to the appropriate people!!
